Hana was now looking at Chanyeol. She hasn't spoken to him since the settlement on their divorce. Jaehyuk was surprised that Hana had come to the conference room where they were. He thought that she didn't want to meet Chanyeol anymore at all.She just quietly sat next to Jaehyuk.
He wasn't surprised by Hana's choice of words. Technically he did want to marry Hana in the future but he was cautious about expressing it because of her experience with her past forced marriage.
Jaehyuk even found out after talking with Hana that Chanyeol and her never meant to get married so early on but they both signed a contract between their two companies and were pushed into marriage.
He didn't understand why the man in front of him would cheat on someone who really cared for him and even went through the trouble of signing a contractual marriage with him. To him, Hana was someone who deserved the world after all that she suffered through.
And he was going to protect her no matter where life put in their path.
"I'm here now. So why don't we get down to business?"
On Hana's side stood two lawyers while Chanyeol just had his manager and his lawyer.
His reputation took a nasty hit due to the revelation of his infidelity. But there were still some fans that still support him no matter what.
Exo-ls were torn as Chanyeol was someone who seemed like a good person. Hana couldn't say that he wasn't. He was a very good friend before they started dating, probably one of her closest but that changed.
Chanyeol wasn't a good husband for her. They weren't right for each other as their relationship and friendship turned sour once both their companies got involved, well Hana's former company. She knew that he wasn't ready for marriage just like her. They both didn't even bother to register their marriage legally after the ceremony but to the public, it seemed like the two actually were married.
The divorce papers Hana had given him were in fact the papers of their contractual marriage. Hana could leave without any penalty due to Chanyeol's infidelity. In a way, he had helped her escape from that hell. That's, why she didn't expose his infidelity and even helped, cover them up.
So they were even.
Now he was being a complete jerk, making it vocal that his reputation clearly mattered a lot to him.
"Hana, let's just say for we already separated by that time, so it just looks like I was hooking up."
Hana couldn't understand Chanyeol. He was an idol. He trained years to debut yet he didn't care being labeled a playboy. He preferred it over being labeled a cheater. He had a lot to lose while she didn't.
"You want the title of a playboy on your back? Why not just expose our contractual marriage?"
Chanyeol looked at her in shock, "Hana are you crazy? I'm still under SM. I can't just do that. I can't afford to."
Of course, she knew that. However, she was trying to help him one last time. After all the years of friendships, they shared. Hana couldn't just throw it away.
Jaehyuk noticed that Hana was very serious in exposing the truth behind their contractual marriage. She clearly knew that some of the public would still blame them for accepting their companies' decisions but she was still helping him out.
Hana just looked at Chanyeol's manager, "Wouldn't it be easier to do damage control if the company took on the blame instead. I mean people will for easier for the scandal to die out and you guys wouldn't lose an important money bag."
