I've never seen something quite like him, that's for sure. He almost doesn't look real. He smiles and I swear the entire room lights up. Everyone is captivated by him. He has this quality, this energy that draws you in and makes you just want to be close to him and you don't even know why. He's like the brightest star you've ever seen and you just can't seem to take your eyes off of. He's captivating."Let's start with the tour" he speaks out in a low voice that rings throughout the room.
People start offering up suggestions for tour concepts and destinations and outfit ideas and song suggestions, but everything they are saying sounds all the same to me. I'm still completely caught up in the moment. Caught up in him.
He's dressed casually. A black coat, white shirt, joggers, and vans. Sunglasses push back his soft curls, and his hands are crowded with rings of all different types, colors, and styles. Nails are covered in black polish that gives a certain edge to his look. He's anxiously tapping his foot to the ground and scanning the room.
He's observant, I can tell. I bet he's always on high alert, wanting to make sure he doesn't miss a thing. Wanting to get a read on everyone and everything that is going on around him.
"Charlie, darling. Do me a favor and run to my office and grab my laptop, it totally slipped my mind to grab it on my way out and I have some fabulous ideas for the tour in my notes" I'm snapped out of the entrancement I've found myself in with Maggie's instructions. I nod my head and quietly excuse myself from the meeting room.
As I'm walking to Maggie's office I take a few deep breaths and try to come back to earth and out of whatever little daydream I just experienced in the meeting. 'He's literally just a person' I tell myself. 'A normal boy with an abnormal job. Stop fawning over him. Be professional.'
I've never been the type to fawn over boys, not even famous ones. Ive only had one real relationship and never really fangirled over the teen heartthrobs that usually captivate the hearts of young girls across the world. It just wasn't me. But something captivated me about Harry. It wasn't just his looks, I mean anyone with eyes could see that put quite simply he was beautiful. His spirit captivated me. I was drawn into him without ever even speaking a word to him.
I round the corner into Maggie's office and grab the laptop that's sat right in the middle of her desk. I take a second to take in the smaller details of her office I had missed before. What can I say, I'm mosey.
Her desk is organized, papers stacked neatly, pens and pencils all placed neatly in a cup, and she has a single frame sat in the very corner of the desk. It's a small photo of what seems to be a young man, mid or late twenties. Her boyfriend, maybe husband.
I didn't peg Maggie as the boyfriend type. She seems like the type to be married to her job, a "workaholic" as some have coined it. Going on dates with lots of young, handsome guys, living a lavish lifestyle of a young professional in the music industry. Then again, I've only known her for half an hour so how much can you assume about a person in that amount of time.
I head out of her office and back down the hall to the meeting room. I find myself in another daydream as I make my way back, gazing at the photos on the walls and peaking into other offices I pass on my way. When I round the last corner until I make it back to the meeting I'm abruptly brought to a stop, as my body slams into someone else's.
"Oh my god, I- I'm so sorry. I was completely zoned out" I say as I glance up to meet the eyes of the person whom I'd collided with.
"S'alright love" he says with a giggle, and immediately I freeze. We lock eyes again. It's him.
My mouth is slightly open, still in shock from the event that had just occurred , and I struggle to find something to say next.
"You seem overwhelmed," he says to me, a smile sits on his face.
"Uh-, it's my first day. Still finding my bearings" I reply as I look down to the floor, my heart beating a million miles a minute. It genuinely feels like I am going to have a heart attack or something.
"That's exciting. A great place to work, these guys are the best of the best. You're in great hands" he says.
I glance back up to him, a soft smile forming on my lips. "I agree. It's been a dream of mine to make it here for as long as I can remember" I reply.
He gives a smirk and soft dimples emerge on his cheeks and I feel butterflies swarm in my stomach.
We pause for just a moment, smiling at one another. Comfortable silence washes over us as we take each other in.
"Well um I- I better get back to Maggie" I say nervously as I break the moment we just shared "seemed like she really needed this."
He gives a small nod and says "I'll see you around" and slides past me to make his way down the long hallway from which I had just come. I lift my hand to open up the meeting room door when I'm stopped by the call of a deep voice.
"I didn't catch your name, love" he says, I feel my face flush a bright red and I turn back around and meet the gaze of the most beautiful man I have ever laid my eyes on.
"Charlie," I smile. "Charlie Matthews."
"I'll see you around Charlie Matthews" he says as he disappears down the hallway.
( Authors Note: )
SOOOO this is the chapter I completely reimagined after hearing Blind.
The song, to me, is about that initial infatuation you can feel for someone that can be kind of unexplainable. I hope that makes sense to you guys because I feel like that kind of attraction is so sweet and so pure and that's exactly what I am trying to capture in this story. It's kind of like puppy love that you hear about when you're growing up :)
This will probably be my last update for a week or so, I am about to be thrown into an exam week at school and highly doubt I will have much time to edit!
Hope you have enjoyed so far, get ready because it's just getting started!
