I wake up with the smile still on my face from the night before. Honestly I haven't been able to wipe it off my face since the moment we kissed. I feel like I am on cloud 9 and never want to come down. I reach over to grab my phone from where it's charging on the nightstand and as I do I see I have one unread message from last night, or early this morning rather.

Harry Styles
2:33 am
I had a lovely time with you today. I'd like to see you again soon, if that's alright with you.

I grin and immediately reply.

Me
7:02 am
I had a lovely time with you as well, and that can most certainly be arranged.

I click my phone shut and head to my bathroom to shower and get ready for the day. After I finish up, I head to my closest to get dressed. I pick out a simple white t-shirt to pair with some black and white gingham dress pants and black heels. I make my way into the kitchen to grab a quick bite then gather my things and make my way out of my apartment.

As I pass through the lobby I give Greg a quick greeting as I head out the door and down to the subway station.

The ride seems quick today, or maybe my head is too far up in the clouds to process the time, and as soon as I know it i'm at my stop. I make my way to the building and board the elevator to take me to my office. I stroll through the door and flop myself down in my desk chair, spinning around just a little as I do.

Gabe, who was already in the office as I arrived, gives me a funny look and questions with a giggle "So I'm going to guess you had a good time last night?"

"What gave it away?" I say to him, a smile still plastered on my face.

"Ah I don't know, maybe that goofy smile you can wipe off your face, or maybe it's the fact you look like you're stuck in a daydream," he remarks, sarcasm evident in his voice.

"Hey, my smile is not goofy!" I giggle.

"So tell me all about it," he says. "I want to hear everything."

"Well it was nothing fancy, which is totally my style. He picked me up and drove me to this little lookout where you could see the whole city. It was magical, the city was lit up in the most beautiful way. And we just sat there, and talked, and well..." I trail off.

"You WHAT," he says. "Charlie, I know you did not kiss Harry Styles."

"Um. Yeah. I did," I say bashfully. My heart flutters just thinking about the moment again.

"NO FREAKING WAY," he says, practically screaming at this point.

"Calm down, calm down," I sush him. "It's not that big of a deal honestly, it wasn't that serious."

"Not that serious? Charlie come on, there are millions of girls who would literally and I mean actually kill to be in your shoes..."

Our conversation is interrupted as Maggie walks into the room and comes to plop herself right on the edge of my desk. "Good morning interns, lovely to see you. Grab your things and follow me, we're off to attend to my busy schedule," we do as instructed and follow behind her to see what is in store for us.

We make our way to the production room, full of computer monitors and sound boards that are lit up every color of the rainbow. There is a huge glass barrier between the part of the room that contains the monitor equipment and a soundproof studio full of microphones and every instrument you could think of. Maggie motions for us to sit on the couches in the back of the room and we do so. She stands in front of us, looking down on us as we sit so low to the ground. She looks more intimidating than ever from this angle.

"Okay so we are here to observe a new client we have coming in to test and be evaluated for the possibility of a development deal. This is something we don't do very often so I felt as if it would be beneficial for you two to see, since I doubt it will happen again while you are interning with us," she continues on but my eyes shift to the door. A boy walks through the door, appears to be about my age, dressed in all black carrying a guitar case. When Maggie realizes he has entered the room she stops babbling at us and shifts her attention to him.

"Hello there, Riley is it?" she says to him in a cheery voice.

"It is, nice to meet you..." he pauses for a moment waiting for Maggie to fill in the blank.

"Maggie, I'm going to be evaluating today and helping you navigate the production room."

She then turns around to introduce us. "These are my interns, Charlie and Gabe. They are also here to assist you in any way you need."

He gives us both a little nod and I smile greeting him as well.

He is a handsome boy, not in a traditional way. He has really pale skin and jet black hair. He's dressed like he belongs in the 80's, but in a rockstar kind of way. His looks would absolutely get him noticed in the music industry, handsome and different.

Maggie invites him into the studio portion of the room and he makes his way there, opening up his guitar case and getting himself settled.

"Do either of you know how to run a soundboard?" Maggie asks.

"I do," I say, quite literally jumping at the opportunity, as I stand up from the couch.

"Perfect, get his sound levels correct and record him playing," she says, I nod and sit down at the production station. I slip on the headphones and turn on an array of knobs and switches. I look up to see Riley already sitting at a stool right in the middle of the room, guitar plugged up, headphones on and ready to go. I turn on the mic that leads to the speakers in the room and ask, "Ready to go Riley?"

"Ready as I can be," he smirks back.

I give him a soft smile and nod, signalling the 'all clear' and slide off my headphones, so the sound from the studio can play through the speakers in our side of the room.

He starts to play the electric guitar softly, its sound ringing sweetly through the room.

Life's taught me a lot recently

Like how to forgive someone who cut me so deep

His voice sounds different that I imagine, more of an indie sound rather than the rocker I had pictured. It's soothing and pulls you in, hanging onto every last word he says. His lyrics are deep and bold, raw and honest. I find myself completely entranced in the music, feeling as if I am in a daydream.

He sings his final note and the room erupts in applause. I notice it sounds a little louder than just three of us and turn around to see someone else in the room, as does Maggie.

"Well hello there Mr. Styles! How lovely it is to see you!" Maggie says, running over to greet him, but he isn't paying her any attention. He is staring directly at me with a smile spread wide on his face.

"What brings you here today?" Maggie questions him.

"I was actually looking for Charlie," Maggie's turns to me with a puzzled glare. "I was told she would be here with you, but I also stayed to hear the rest of the song. It was lovely," He says, nodding his head to Riley. Riley gives a wave and a 'thank you' through the glass.

"Could I borrow Charlie for a moment?" Harry asks.

Maggie nods and looks at me with a whispered "Go now but I expect an explanation later." I can't exactly read her at that moment. I don't know if she's mad or purely just interested but I only think about it for a moment as I get up and make my way through the room and out the door he is holding open for me.

"Thank you, it will only be a moment," Harry says as he softly shuts the door behind us.
