(Y/n) walked into her house, shivering. When did it get so cold? It was dark as ever, just like before.

Like before...

before what? before Mingi?

(Y/n) shook her head, trying to silence the voices ringing in her ears. Why were they back? Why were they back??

"Go away. Get out. Get out!"

(Y/n) sobbed helplessly. They were back. She could feel their sickly hands grabbing at her. Their raspy, horrible whispers licking at her ears. She could feel them clawing their way to her. Trying to get inside her head.

It was the same.

The same as before.

She was alone. As always.

*ring*

"Hello..?"

"Hey baby."

Mingi's voice echoed in her head and she smiled slightly.

"Hey Gi..."

"I'm on my way home, okay baby? I'm on the way."

"Okay."

"I'll see you home."

"Gi?"

"Yeah baby?"

"I love you."

She could hear Mingi laugh and make a kissing sound.

"I love you too."

(Y/n) hung up, her heart heavy.

is this what you want? hm?

She dragged herself up, trying to stand, but her chest felt so tight. She tried to regain her balance, but failed. She accidentally hit the flower vase, watching it shatter as it hit the ground.

Her head was pounding.

...

Mingi groaned and hit the steering wheel in frustration. Traffic.

"Are you f*cking kidding me?!"

He just wanted to go home. He just wanted to be with (Y/n).

(Y/n).

His chest felt tight.

Why was he suddenly so scared?

...

(Y/n) sobbed, her cries echoing in the empty house.

What was she doing?

Why, why?

She was regretting it.

'Mingi.'

Her eyes shot open.

"Mingi."

She could barely pick herself up.

...

Something was wrong. Something was seriously wrong. Why did his chest feel so tight?

"Pick up pick up pick up-"

"Hello?"

"Where's (Y/n)? Something's wrong. Something is seriously wrong."

"She's been next doo-"

"Go to her, hyung, something is wrong."

...

(Y/n) had regrets. A lot of them. But loving Mingi and the boys could never be one of them.

But this could be her biggest regret.

She was feeling the regret, about as much as she felt the knife in her stomach. Curse her former anatomy teacher for teaching her where the vital organs were.

It's too late now.

Someone was knocking. Wooyoung's voice could be heard from the other side of the door.

"(Y/n)-noona! Are you okay?! Noona!"

"(Y/n)?!"

Mingi was there too.

"Mingi..."

She could hear him trying to push the door open.

"Baby open the door!"

He was struggling to unlock the door with his key, probably because his hands were shaking like crazy. He was getting frustrated, ultimately forcing the door open.

"Baby."

Mingi ran to (Y/n), diving to his knees. His eyes widened in shock and realization.

"Hey Gi."

"Hey stupid."

"Shh, I'm dying, don't call me stupid."

"That's exactly why I'm calling you stupid."

"Call me stupid one more time and I'm gonna die single."

(Y/n) laughed weakly and Mingi grabbed her hand.

"Why would you do this?"

"I'm sorry."

"Don't apologize, we're gonna get you to the hospital, okay? You're gonna be okay."

Wooyoung kneeled beside (Y/n), large tears were flowing down his cheeks.

"Noona..."

Wooyoung clumsily wiped the tears away and shakily grabbed (Y/n)'s hand.

"A-are you gonna leave me...like eomma left me...?"

"No baby, no it'll be okay."

(Y/n) was lying to him. She just didn't want to scare him.

"Why don't you help me to bed, Mingi? I'll tuck Wooyoung in after I rest my eyes."

Mingi picked her up slowly, carrying her to the room.

"Don't leave me, (Y/n). You promised you'd stay."

"I did, I'm so sorry I lied."

Mingi tried to not cry, but he loved (Y/n) too much to accept what was happening right now. It didn't even feel like it was happening.

She was dying.

But she was so calm.

"You're so calm."

(Y/n) nodded, holding his hand.

"I'm not afraid."

"Of course you aren't. But I am."

(Y/n) smiled, she looked so eerily at ease.

"I wish we met in a better life."

"My best life is a life I can live with you."

"Wow, Song Mingi, I never realized how poetic you were."

Mingi chuckled, patting (Y/n)'s head. She was still wearing the ring he bought her. Her necklace was hanging on a hook in the bathroom.

"I love you (Y/n)."

(Y/n) smiled, staring up at the ceiling in content.

"I love you, Song Mingi."
