I had been at the Malfoy's house for a month. I spent every day with Draco and was slowly starting to enjoy his company. Every night I slept with him in his bed and smiled if he wrapped his arm around me or let me lay close to him.

This morning I woke up and Draco was already gone. I just shrugged and got out of bed and put on clothes. I went downstairs to go looking for him.

I made it into the dining room and saw my parents, Draco's parents, a couple of other Death Eaters, and Voldemort talking. I was about to walk away before I heard my name called.

"Rachel, come and join us, " Voldemort said in his terrifying voice.

I took a deep breath and walked over to him slowly.

"Yes?" I asked, hoping for an explanation as to why I was needed here.

"Well Rach, since you just turned 16 we decided that means you are old enough to join us, "my mother said confidently but I could see a hint of sadness in her eyes.

"What do you mean?"

"You will be getting the dark mark and becoming a Death Eater just like us, " my father responded.

I didn't know exactly how to feel about it. Surprised? Scared? I knew I had absolutely no choice though so I obeyed.

They motioned for me to sit in the chair in front of them and pull up my sleeve on my left arm. I gritted my teeth to try and stop the pain of the tattoo being engraved into my skin. I couldn't watch the black ink being transferred onto my pale skin.

When they were finally done I looked down at my arm, there was no going back now. I was just staring, not being able to believe I had actually just done that.

"We need you to do something very important, " Voldemort began to explain, "Draco has been given a task as well."

"You mean he is a Death Eater as well?" I asked even though the answer was quite obvious.

"Yes, by the end of this school year he will have brought the rest of the Death Eaters to Hogwarts and will kill Dumbledore."

I shuddered slightly but tried not to show my emotions.

"So what do you need me to do?" I questioned.

"You must watch Draco, make sure he is able to complete his task. But you may not tell him you are also a Death Eater."

"Why not?" I said, not understanding why I would have to keep it a secret from him.

"Because we know the relationship happening between you two."

"There is no relationship, " I said not very convincingly.

"Don't lie to me, Rachel, " Voldemort responded.

"If Draco knew you were a Death Eater as well he would only try and help you instead of focusing on his task, " Narcissa explained, "He won't show you at first so you must pretend you had figured it out on your own, the sooner the better. More people knowing you are a Death Eater will only start more rumors spreading across the school and our plan will be messed up."

"That is why we will put a temporary spell on your arm, " Bellatrix cackled.

They told me the spell and I practiced it on my arm. In a couple of seconds, the tattoo on my arm  slowly faded away. I felt the slightest bit better but it still tortured me knowing it was lying underneath the spell.

"Don't forget to repeat the spell daily Rachel, " my mother warned me.

"Alright, I will. Can I go and see Draco now please?"
