It was the next day and I was still stuck in this coma. I was scared that I would never get out of it and would have to spend the rest of my life frozen.
Suddenly I heard the door open and people entered the room. I couldn't tell who they were but just assumed it must be a nurse or doctor. They began to do various odd check-ups on me. I was still getting used to others moving around me while I had to sit here motionless.
After a short while, the door opened once again and I heard someone walk in.
"I'm sorry sir but you can't visit her now, " the one nurse said. I was curious about who it could be, maybe it was Neville again. I waited to hear their voice so I could determine who it was but there was just silence.
After a couple of seconds the other nurse said, "Alright, I guess you can stay. We will be done in a couple of minutes."
The anticipation was killing me, I just wanted to know who was sitting there. The nurses continued to do checks on me but finally left the room, leaving me alone with the mystery man.
All of a sudden I heard his steps across the room, coming closer to me. He grabbed my hand and I immediately knew exactly who it was. I felt his other hand brush hair away from my face before he started talking quietly.
"I miss you Rachel, please come back. I need you, you are the only person who saw the good in me, " Draco whispered. I wanted to, I wanted to come back so badly but it didn't work like that.
I tried with all my strength to hold his hand instead of him just having it lay limp on his own. I surprised myself when I actually just barely moved my fingers. It took all the strength I had but I actually moved. I could get out of this coma, I could be alright again.
*Draco's POV*
The next morning I woke up in the Leaky Cauldron and immediately jumped out of bed. I quickly got ready, I was anxious to get to the hospital.
I eventually apparated out of the inn and to St. Mungos. Once I got there I saw that Neville was sitting in the waiting room.
"Where is she?" I asked.
He turned to look at me and responded, "we can't see her yet. They just have to do some quick checks."
"You told me I could see her today, I'm going to find her, " I said while walking away. I went down the hallway and looked into the window on each door. They all had random people I didn't recognize until I finally reached one that had two nurses hovering over the bed in which Rachel laid.
I turned the knob and opened the door. The two women turned to look at me with startled faces.
"I'm sorry sir but you can't visit her now, " the one lady said. I glared at her and remained silent. Instead of leaving the room I walked in further and sat in the chair next to her bed.
"Alright, I guess you can stay. We will be done in a couple of minutes, " the other woman said.
I stared at Rachel's emotionless face, unable to move an inch. I felt guilty for leaving her, I never wanted her to get hurt.
After a little while longer the nurses left the room, leaving me alone with Rachel. I moved to be closer to her bed and grabbed onto her hand. It had a cold lifeless feeling which made an unsettling feeling grow in my stomach.
I used my other hand to gently brush the hair away from her face. "I miss you Rachel, please come back. I need you, you are the only person who saw the good in me, " I whispered trying to fight back the tears forming in my eyes.
For a second I could have sworn I felt her hand move the slightest bit but it must have just been my imagination.
Suddenly the door opened and I immediately backed away from Rachel. I turned around to see Neville standing in the doorway.
"Sorry, did I interrupt something?" he asked.
"No, it's whatever, " I mumbled back.
"Did the nurses say anything?" he said.
"No, they just did the tests and left, " I said, starting to get irritated with all the questions.
"Well I'm sure she'll be better eventually, she's strong, " Neville said in some sort of attempt to reassure me.
I didn't make me feel any better, only more annoyed. "Can you just leave us alone for a bit, " I said with a slight tone of anger brewing under my breath.
"I just got here, I gave you a moment alone, " Neville responded.
"You were here all day yesterday. Just get out, " I raised my voice slightly.
"I'm not scared of you Draco, Rachel is my friend and I'm staying, " he replied confidently.
I rolled my eyes and sat in the chair next to the bed. I preferred him much more when he was still afraid of everything.
While I sat there, looking down at Rachel's frozen body, I felt all of the little happiness I had sucked out of me. She was the only thing that was keeping me together and now that she wasn't here I had nothing left.
"Are you alright?" Neville asked, making the thoughts disappear momentarily.
"I'm fine, what would make you think otherwise?" I shot back.
"Your hands are shaking, " he said while looking down at them then back up to my face. I looked at him with a confused face then brought my gaze downwards to see that he was right. My hands were shaking and I hadn't even noticed. I moved my right hand in an attempt to keep my left hand still.
I needed Rachel, I would be nothing without her. If she wasn't better soon I don't think I will be able to live with myself.

Later that day I was still sat in the same place. Neville had already left but I insisted on staying longer.
A nurse opened the door and said, "Mr. Malfoy you'll have to leave now. Visiting hours are closed."
I looked back up at her and glared showing that there was no way I was leaving.
I could tell she was trying to decide what to do but eventually answered, "just this once you can stay. Don't cause any trouble though."
I nodded my head in agreement but I knew I would get away with staying other nights as well. I would sit in this hospital room until Rachel wakes up.
The nurse shut the door leaving us alone once again. I looked back at Rachel through the corner of my eye. I could barely look at her without my heart-shattering. I was so tired of the bad the world had thrown at us. I always thought once the battle was over and Voldemort was gone everything would go back to normal.
Then I saw something I still thought was impossible. I could have sworn her hand just barely moved the slightest bit. I immediately stood up and moved to be right beside her bed.
"Rachel are you there?" I asked while reaching for her hand. A couple of seconds later I once again felt her hand move the slightest bit. A huge smile appeared on my face, she was actually ok.
"If you can hear me move your hand again, " I said quickly with excitement. I waited another couple of seconds and once again felt her hand move. I let go of her hand and gently hugged her. I placed my face in her chest and cried except this time they were tears of joy.
"I knew you would be ok, " I said before kissing her on the forehead, "just keep trying, and eventually you'll be back to normal."
Her hand moved once again and I went back to hold it in my own hand. I had never smiled so much before in my life, I don't know if I've ever even had a true smile on my face.
"I love you, Rach, " I whispered under my breath. I once again felt her hand move which I knew was her way of saying she loved me too.
