The Wedding (chapter 13)

Okay this part of th story was a little tricky to write so sorry if it seems short or rushed but please understand i had way to many characters in the story so im going to be taking some out to make it a little easier to keep up with.

"Let me go I can't do it." I said loud enough for Sophie, Lucy and Suzy to hear.

"What? But Maria your marrying Nathan the man you love." I stopped trying to get out the door. Yeah it was Nathan I was marrying no one else just him. I turned around and faced Sophie who was smiling. "Just Nathan, Maria just remember Nathan.

"Yeah, just Nathan. Where is Nathan I don't see him." I looked around the hall. People where looking at me and smiling. Well most of them not some of the girls. Sophie grabbed my arm and pulled me towards the door to left of the hall. When we got inside I saw Nathan, mark and the queen all sitting next to the king. He did look like he was dying.

"Maria I'm glad you made it." the king said in a horse voice. Nathan looked over at me and held his hand out I took it and came and stood next to him. "I'm sorry but you and Nathan will have to be the rulers of this country a lot earlier then I'd hoped you would. But you will have help from all my advisors and mark will help where he can." the king stopped and breathed deep. I left Nathan and went to the king.

"Tom, stop talking I understand what you mean. Just sit and watch the ceremony. We'll make you proud." I kissed his forehead. I stood up and backed away, Suzy and Lucy put my veil on my face and we were ready.

The ceremony began with the lullaby that Nathan and I loved to hum together. After the song people said some words about Nathan, but no one really new me so Sammy and Sophie both talked about me.

"Maria is a strong minded women and she will help make Nathan a great king. She will hold him up when he feels like he's falling. Maria will protect each and every one of us. Thank you." I stood there starring at Sammy as he walked back to his position in the wedding party.

"I knew Maria long before she became what she is today a beautiful woman. Her mum sent me a letter a couple o months before she had to send Maria here and I'm going to ready you lady axis letter.

'My dear Sophie Maria and her brother must leave our home in a short time. Help her to grow stronger then she is, wiser then she is and most of all get her to love Nathan more than anyone. I will hope you will follow out my last wishes I am in trusting my only daughter to you Sophie as a friend of your family and as a mother please do this for me.' I have for filled these few requests by her mum but Maria has gone further than I thought she could go. I believe that Maria will be a fantastic wife for Nathan because she'll keep him in line for you and shell be a great queen when the time will come because shell do what is right for the people of Lucius. Thank you." Sophie took her place near Sammy. Everyone in the weeding party was smiling at each other. The crowd was quiet some looked like they had been moved by the words said by everyone. I felt a pair of hands on my shoulder I looked over my shoulder and saw Mark. He was smiling; he was also wearing what looked like the giving away the bride clothes.

"So you're to give me to your brother? That's got to be weird for you." mark smiled then held up a white chain of flowers which looked like they were frozen. "That is not going on my head."
