'NATHAN' What Is Happening?! part 4

Maria's POV

Lucy and I landed in the freezing water around the castle.

"Agh! It's cold!" Lucy said as we broke the water coming up for air.

"Swim Lucy, we have to get out and run." I said swimming to the shore and pulling myself out.

"Maria I can't." I turned and saw Lucy tangeled in the weeds.

"Lucy." I grabbed her hand and pulled her out. "Lucy come on we don't have long." Lucy nodded her head. I helped her out of the water and started running holding onto Lucy's hand. We where only running for a short time when 5 figures jumped out at us. "RUN LUCY!" I yelled as one of the figures grabbed me.

"AH!" Lucy screamed.

Okay then no more games. I grabbed the persons hand and flipped them over my shoulder and grabbed their sword and turned to the Lucy's capter. But i was hit on the back of the head. It didn't knock me out but it did make me look behind me and get a shock when I saw Sophie kneeling over the man on the ground.

"Calm down you two!" I heard Lucy's capter say with fustration.

"Adam?"

"Who else idiot!"

"Oh I'm sorry, you grabbed Lucy just as we escaped Luke. I just went on attack mode." I heard someone laughing.

"Well I'm glade 'you find this funny Nathan. Your the one who hasn't be injuried by a crazy women." I looked around and saw Nathan was standing next to a tree a few feet away from everyone.

"Well I wasn't brave enough to grab my wife while she looked like she would kill me and good job to because Sammy is going to have a good load bruises when he waked up tomorrow." I looked at Sophie and Sammy on the ground.

"It would take a lot more then that to knock Sammy out."

"OW sis that hurt!"

"Sorry Sam, I didn't recognise you." I said shrugging my shoulders.

"Yes well, we need to get you back to Lucius so we can make you Queen. Since your married to the King."

"What?" I looked at everyone in a little confusion then realised. "You did the ceremony without me hay?"

"I would have said no but I didn't get a choice." Nathan said still standing near the tree. He smiled at me and turned and walked away.

"Have I done something to upset Nathan?" No one spoke.

We all walked in silence until we reached the horses that Sophie, Adam, Sammy, Suzy and Nathan had brought. Their were five I was dreading this. Lucy got on Adams horse and Sammy rode with Sophie. So I got on Sammy's horse. When we started moving Nathan waited till I was next to him before moving.

"Maria, how did you escape?"

"I don't want to talk about it."

"Maria, it's not a request."

"Really I couldn't tell, but guess what as your wife I have the right to not tell you." I said with all the angry that had been in me all night.

"Maria please let's not fight I...."

"No, you want to now why I had to break every vow I made to you when we married to get out." I said feeling the tears I'd been holding back for all my life come crashing down on me.

Nathan's POV

"Maria..." I reached for her but she moved away. "Maria..."

"Leave it Nathan. You can't make me feel any better about myself." I felt like I lost Maria the moment I blacked out which I probably did.

"Nathan... um... Maria risked everything to save me. I'm in dept to her but I understand her need to not repeat everything that happened tonight." I looked up and saw Lucy. Adam was pretending not to listen even though Lucy was sitting in lap.

"But she's shutting me out."

"No, she's trying to punish herself. She thinks by not letter you touch her is a good punishment for portraying your love and her country."

"WHAT! How is that a punishment! It's her denying what she wants. It's also punishing me!"

"I think you just need to give her space. She'll come around I promise."

"I hope so." I looked over at Maria who was riding alone out the front.

Maria's POV

Maria was remembering what happened in Luke castle.

"Why did I do it?" I felt tears running down my face.

"Because you did what you had to do, to get out." The little voice whispered.

"But why that?! Of all the things why that?!"

"Because your an assassin trained to do what's necessary to escape."

"But sleeping with enemy.... Nathan will never forgive me for that."

"He will, you did it to save Lucy."

"I hope so. I can't loose him. He's my whole world." I looked up at the moon. "A full moon...." Tears continued to run down my face.

Suzy's POV

What should I do. Mark I need your advice. Wow I've never said that before.

"Um.... Adam where is Mark?"

"He's at the palace talking with everyone."

"Oh good..." Hmm so how can I help Maria? She's keeping Nathan away for a reason.

Suzy rode up beside Maria and rode in silence next to Maria until she noticed her and just stared.

"Maria, will you tell me what happened?"

"I can't, you wont understand..."

"I'll be able to understand more if you tell me." Maria looked over her shoulder at the group.

"Okay but don't tell the others please."

"alright then."

"I slept with Luke." Maria said with tears flowing down her face.

"So..." I said not really seeing a problem.

"SO! I broke my vows to Nathan!" Suzy jumped as maria screamed at the top of her lungs. Nathan looked at the girls as maria yelled.

"Calm down Maria. God I was just implying that it wont matter as long as you explain it to him. He'll understand. He's your husband." Suzy watched Maria in silence waiting for what she said he sunk in. Maria looked at me and nodded.

"Thanks Suzy. but i dont know if ill be ever ready to tell Nathan what happened." Maria looked forward and ignored the sigh of fustration that Suzy let out.
