"not to intrude, but what happened to your sister, harper?" stiles asked as you sat on the couch, one of the star wars movies playing in the background.

"what's to talk about? she's 13 and ran away from home. now can we watch the movie, i didn't decide to skip today to talk about my sister." you replied, shaking your head at the thought of you actually skipping school. sure, your grades are good and all, but it doesn't help anyone if you skip. you saw stiles nodding out of the corner of your eye and decided to turn your attention fully back to the movie.

"(y/n)!" harper called, racing up to you from behind. "you know how much i've missed you? i spent a whole day looking out the window waiting to see you." she explained, not letting go as you chuckled slightly.

"and i spent the whole day missing you." you told her, turning around so you could hug her back. "i also spent the whole day waiting to see the beautiful birthday girl."

harper laughed into your shirt, causing you to smile. "just because it's my birthday doesn't mean i'm special." she told you, shaking her head as she spoke.

"you're eight! isn't that wonderful?" Yyu asked, picking her up and spinning her in the air like they did in the movies.

harper was eight, you were eleven, almost twelve, and everything was going well.

sure, the first year of middle school has sucked so far, but coming home everyday and just hugging harper made it better.

"i love you, harp." you smiled, carrying her outside to where your parents had set up an outdoor movie theatre.

"i love you too, (y/n/n)," she whispered back, "hut not in a gross romantic way, that's disgusting." she added, pretending to gag as you set her down.

you laughed slightly, "yeah, not in a gross way." as you sat down in your chair you realised you had no clue what you were going to watch, maybe star wars or the avengers, two movies of the few movies harper loved with all her heart.

"can we watch star wars revenge of the sith tonight?" you heard her ask, causing you to nod your head, of course she'd want to watch it, anything with the tiniest bit of action excited her.

"of course sweetie." Your mom replied.

"hey, uhm, earth to (y/n)?" You heard stiles call, pulling you out of the memory.

"sorry, got lost in my thoughts." you told him, refocusing on the movie. "you know, harper loved these movies, and we were forced to watch all of them on her eighth birthday, it made her so happy though so i didn't care."

"cute." stiles muttered under his breath, causing you to turn your head over to look at him, overly confused.

"what?" you asked, wondering what was so cute about letting your little sister watch the movies she wanted to.
