Chapter 5 Mystery killer part 1

Where is it? No, no, no this can't be happening, that ball was the thing that kept me alive, if I don't have it I can die any second, Shit man! I grabbed my belongings and left my house to walk to school, I made it to my train station, paid, and got on my train that headed to school. When I got out of my train I got out of the station and saw my best friend Uzami standing there looking around, I approached him and he spotted me. "Hey Hiro, did you miss me yesterday?" Uzami said in a playful tone, "oh shut up, what's this about confessing to a girl named Fumino anyways?" I asked trying to act like I didn't care, "sorry I didn't tell you but I've had a crush on her since I met her in our first year of school, she was pretty and kind, that's when my heart suddenly started to beat fast anytime I saw her." Uzami said while looking away from me, "you should have told me, we are best friends right?" I asked, "right," he responded as we walked out of the station, we walked for 2 minutes and talked about the classwork that Uzami misses when we both spotted Yua walking in the distance with her head looking down.
As I saw her I felt my body begin to turn cold, I managed to take a glimpse at her left eye from a distance and saw her eye getting darker by the second. "Yoooo! Yua remember that thing we talked about?" Uzami said as he ran up to Yua and grabbed her shoulder, Yua took his hands off her and went for a kick in the stomach making Uzami lie on the ground in pain. "You shouldn't have done that," I said as I walked closer to the both of them. Yua's eyes changed back to normal, Yua looked at me and turned around quickly while giving a smug face, I gave a small laugh to try and change the atmosphere but nothing worked.
We walked closer to the school and made it near the gate, okay I need to go and check we're the metal ball was originally at. I separated from the two by booking it as they stared at me in confusion. I made it closer and saw something shine in the ground, I picked it up and saw the metal like ball object with a switch on it pointing to off. How can this be? I put it in my cabinet the night before and just went to sleep, this is strange. I turned the switch on, the ball started to glow brightly and float from my hand near my face. I grabbed the ball and put it in my right pocket, then walked off getting back to the school gates and entering school. I have 15 minutes till the second ring bells so I decided to go and talk with Fumino. I walked in the hallway where class A was.
I spotted Fumino near the stairs reading a book, I walked over towards her and sat next to her as she noticed my presence. "What are you reading?" I asked in a friendly tone, Fumino struggled to open her mouth but was finally able to and said, "I'm reading some folktale," "oh that's nice, I remember my grandparents reading some to me when I was little before they passed away." I said as Fumino felt some guilt in what she had said. "I'm sorry," she said feeling bummed out, "don't be," I said, "they lived a long life and told my family that when they die we shouldn't feel sad and to just remember their teachings."
Fumino seemed less bummed out, "well this has been fun but I have my first period class in a few minutes, I better get a head start," I said as I got up from the stairs, "later," "later," she said as I left and started walking towards my classroom. Something felt off about my surroundings, I looked around my surroundings and found nothing. What is up with me today? Was it the metal ball being placed back to where I found it that triggered this reaction or what? I need to find some answers but the first period is about to start, I entered my classroom we're I saw Uzami sitting down but Yua was nowhere to be found.
During the beginning of lunch period I headed straight to Uzami's seat, "so are you going to do it now?" I asked in a nervous tone, "you know what?" Uzami said, "what?" I asked, "let's go right now, it's better to be rejected then to waste your time on someone who doesn't love you." Uzami said as he got up from his seat, we both walked out of class and walked all the way from our class to Class A, we slid the door open and saw Fumino sitting alone eating her lunch. "Alright, it's now or never," Uzami said as he walked towards Fumino's table, scared, while I walked slowly behind him. Uzami pulled up a chair and placed it near her seat, Fumino instantly looked at Uzami then spotted me as I looked away in embarrassment. "Hey Fumino I have something to tell you," Uzami said shaking, "I'm, I'm, in love with, you," Fumino sat there in silence while she looked at Uzami, Uzami bent his head down, "ever since I met you when we were in first year, when I met you, you were the prettiest girl I ever saw, and when I asked you for directions to my classroom you helped me, will you please go out with me."
I look at Uzami embarrassed and nervous about the answer she will give that I know of, Fumino stood up, grabbed her lunch, went for the doors and slid it open, "I'm in love with Hiro, I'm sorry," she said as she exited the room, and then slid the door. Uzami stood up and looked at me angrily, "did you know?" Uzami said in a strong angry voice, I shook my head, "I didn't know, I only meet her yesterday," I lied, Uzami slammed Fuminos table really hard, "I need some time alone, get away from me," Uzami said as his voice shriveled, "I'm sorry, I really am," I said as I lowered my head and walked out the room as other students watched what had just happened. When I left that room I heard sounds of my beloved friend crying, I walked near the stairs of Class A and saw Fumino silently eating her lunch while she looked down, I went up to her. "Is everything okay?" I asked, "no, I just broke someone's heart ," she responded, I stood there in silence, I then sat next to her, "I forgot my lunch in my classroom," I said with a small laugh at the end, "you think I can have some of yours?" Fumino grabbed a rice ball using a napkin and handed it to me, "thank you," I said as I grabbed it, took a bite, and dropped the napkin.
At that moment my throat started to ache, "can I— get a—," I instantly booked it and ran to my class while my throat was in pain, I ran to a near vending machine we're I bought a Coca Cola, I drank the beverage and my throat got better but still ached, that rice ball was so bad that my throat couldn't even swallow it. I walked back to the stairs and sat back down, "sorry I was choking on the rice ball," I lied, "are you fine or do you need to go to the nurse?" She asked. "No I'm fine now, but after this incident I don't want to eat anymore," I said hiding the truth that her food tasted bad. Fumino finished up, got up, went into her classroom, then came back out, "is he still in there?" I asked, "no he left when she ran to buy a Cola," she responded.
"Why don't we walk around the school for a bit, we have 20 minutes left?" I asked, "sure," Fumino said hesitantly, we walked around the school for a bit when we came across the hallway for Class J, it was silent, no one was near there, "hey you think we should head back?" I asked, "whatever you want to do," Fumino responded. "It's just that it's really quiet here and there aren't any students around. I turned around and heard a loud noise behind me, I turned around and saw Fumino on the ground with a giant blunt on the back of her head as blood spilled from her cracked skull. I take multiple steps back and fall on the ground in disbelief of what I was seeing in front of me. I then felt pain at the side of my head while I noticed long similar pigtails near me, the metal ball floating around me glowing. I then closed my eyes and opened them.
