Restocking Decked-out was a painful task, sometimes quite literally. The hermits just couldn't stop playing it, not that he was mad. Games are designed to be played after all. Tango grabbed a couple of black shulker boxes, filled with Decked-out starter packs, and headed out into the shopping district. After spending so much time underground, the sunlight can get a little blinding.
He hopped out of the ravager's head in a burst of a few rockets, and found himself flying over the shopping district. Landing on top of the cinnabon shop, Tango paced the snowy rooftop, carefully examining every nook and cranny of it. He finally settled on a spot near the corner, shoving the black shulker into place. Not bothering to activate his elytra, he jumped off the building and landed on the hard ground below. That hurt, he thought to himself, quickly regaining his pace and bounding around the shopping district.
He spotted a Mumbo for Mayor poster right underneath Pyroteknics, which Xisuma had so thoughtfully remodeled. Checking his surroundings to ensure no one was watching, he snatched up the poster, shoving it into his inventory. It wasn't even illegal to take the posters, but it felt so good to commit the occasional theft. He sprinted off in the direction of Scar's plant monster shop, surely a good location for a Decked-out shulker.
On his way over, he stopped by his nether shop, with the towering tree in the middle looking bland as ever. Why don't you give it a bit of a revamp? That was a fantastic idea! Tango snapped his fingers, and a fire appeared in the opposite hand. He felt the fire curl naturally toward the vines, and let it loose. The fire cascaded up and down the tree like an unstoppable army, until the whole tree was lit up. He grinned, it looked perfect.
"Oh my god, Tango!"
He abruptly turned around, faced with their very own Mayor Scar looking baffled as ever. Tango returned the confused expression, with a bit of mock innocence. He hadn't done anything wrong. Technically...
"Dude, you have no impulse control!" Scar chuckled.
Impulse control? What was that supposed to mean? Tango thought he did a pretty good job controlling Impulse. There were quite a few terms he was unfamiliar with, and this may be one of them. "Huh?" He asked, confused.
"I've.. well, I guess I've sort of been watching you wander through the shopping district." He admitted sheepishly. "Still man," Scar continued regaining his confidence. "You have zero impulse control!"
Still lacking an explanation for Scar's spontaneous stalking, he rolled his eyes and flew off, forgetting what he was supposed to be doing. There was a new task at hand. No Impulse control!, he scoffed. I'll show you Impulse control. Now, to find Impulse.
~~-------------------------------~~
His base may have been one of the loudest on the server, with at least 10 farms passively running at all times. Despite all the noise, Impulse could always hear the indestiguisable sound of a rocket firing. He closed the chest he was currently emptying the free glass out of to meet his new guest. Turning around, he grinned as Tango struggled to land, settling for sliding face-first into the floor. Impulse laughed at his pain.
"What brings you here Mr. Tek sir?" He giggled. Tango joined in his fit of laughter, though it seemed a bit forced. Tango waltzed up to him, looking him square in the eyes, not a foot away from his face, as his eyes began to glow a bright red. It was as if time itself had stopped, everything ceased to move except Tango and himself. Impulse backed away cautiously as his friend became translucent and began levitating, like some sort of demon summoning ritual.
Tango reached out and put a hand on his shoulder, and then passed right through him. The sensation felt so strange, and he was sure that his friend was inside his soul now, he could feel Tango in possession. And the world around him began to fade toward darkness as he gradually drifted out of consciousness. Then Impulse lost control.
~~————————————-~~
He stretched the limbs of the new body. Impulse was pretty in shape, considering all he did was sit around all day. Tango equipped Impulse's elytra, flying off to the shopping district in his body. He found it difficult to maintain flight, he hadn't possessed someone in forever. Time to go find Scar and show him the he really did have Impulse control. He nearly fell into the ocean by spawn island before reaching his destination.
Landing much more smoothly than before, Tango slipped through the shopping district searching for the mayor once again, but it would seem Scar had found him. He felt a light tap on his back and turned around to see him standing awkwardly behind him.
"Impulse. Have you seen Tango around here? I'm getting a little worried."
Tango gave him a reassuring pat on the back. "Tango's right here! How's that for Impulse Control!" He chuckled at his own amazing joke. Scar seemed to stare at him for about a minute, attempting to process what he had just said, before promptly bursting out laughing. Tango tilted his head, not quite understanding what Scar found so funny.
He heard the unmistakable sound of a rocket being fired, and scanned the sky for the hermit landing in the shopping district. He spotted the armored man land right next to Scar with a friendly smile on his face, while Scar was still laughing hysterically. Xisuma gave him a quizzical look, and turned to would-be Impulse as if you ask what was happening.
Scar managed to calm himself down enough to recollect the events leading up to Impulse'a possession. Apparently, Impulse control did not mean how well he could control Impulse, which was very well. And after hearing the definition repeated several times, he definitely fit the bill. Xisuma looked less than impressed.
"You're a horrible friend you know that Scar."
Scar nodded unapologetically, leaving a disappointed X and a confused Tango. Xisuma turned to him, politely asking him to unpossess Impulse. That wasn't too difficult, as all he had to do was leave the body. Focusing his consciousness elsewhere, he successfully launched his spirit into the overworld, leaving a tired Impulse collapsed on the District's floor. Tango rematerialized, and Xisuma muttered a thank you as well as a "please never do that again" to him as he flew away to continue shopping.
