A New Experience

Conquest Part 3

     Fate is a concept that many people like to believe in. It's something that decides someone's future when they're born right? If 'fate' really does decide someone's future then whoever was 'fated' to be hunted by the Ayanokouji siblings have a sad 'fate' indeed...

     The siblings head for the exit of the mall so that they could accomplish their task. It was only the second day of the special exam but it seems that the school administration wants to take it up a notch already. Kuzuha, as usual, was the first to engage in conversation,

"Kiyotaka, who are we going for?"

"I plan on going for class B."

"Why them? Why not just go for class C they're not that much smarter than class D anyways, or statistically speaking at least."

"..."

"Fine, you don't need to explain. We'll crush them I'm sure."

     In truth, Kiyotaka didn't want to go for A or C because he has uses for Sakayanagi and Ryuuen still, which meant the only logical class left would be class B. He knew that the special exam ran across all the years and VIPs could be a series of 1st, 2nd, or 3rd years paired together, but he couldn't take the chance that maybe Sakayanagi or Ryuuen were chosen. Class B would be easy to target anyway because they seem to lack any animosity, except for the select few across all 3 years. Quick to take charge, Kiyotaka begins formulating a plan inside his head, and all would go according to his way. At the end of the day, everyone would be dancing to his tune. The only real problem would the time limit, but since he had Kuzuha as a teammate it would make his tasks a lot easier since she wasn't as incompetent as everyone else there. First, he would need to make sure everything was set up properly. With no more delay, he and Kuzuha get to work immediately. 

     It had been a good 2 hours since Kiyotaka and Kuzuha got to work, and Kiyotaka was just heading over somewhere to apply the finishing touches to the bait. While he was walking around he was pulled aside abruptly by someone. This, someone, was his friend, Ichinose Honami. Bewildered by her actions he stands in anticipation, waiting to hear an explanation from her. It was an awkward few minutes between the two until she mustered up the courage to speak.

"I-it's been a while Kiyotaka...how have you been?"

Confused that he was pulled aside for such a mundane question he responds, "I'm fine."

"G-good umm w-well I wanted to ask something of you."

"What would that be?"

"A-about those rumors...are...you...actually..."

"I am."

"You didn't let me finish."

"It was obvious what you wanted to ask me and the answer to it is, I am." 

"T-then WHY?!" In a sudden outburst, she yells at Kiyotaka.

Taken aback from a sudden change in behavior he remains silent.

"I-I'm sorry I didn't mean to, b-but I want to know why."

Not understanding what she was asking he says, "What do you mean?"

"I want to know why you have a girlfriend!"

"Because I chose to."

"But why..."

"I answered your question already Ichinose."

"I-I still don't get it..." a drop of water hit the ground and Kiyotaka noticed, but he knew they weren't drops of water, it was her tears, "it doesn't seem like you Kiyotaka..."
