Chapter 51

Morning came by in the village and everyone woke up to do their daily routine. As for Sachie, she stared outside the window and clenched her fists tightly as she trembled a bit
Mom hasn't returned yet...is she okay?
"Mm...I wish I could've gone. I could've helped them..." Sachie said and trembled
Knock Knock
"Princess? Your breakfast is ready" The maid said
"I'll be there in a bit" Sachie said and looked down
Mom...please be safe out there
The maid left the door and walked back to the dining table
"Is Sachie awake?" Mitsuko asked
"Y-yes your highness. She said she'll be here in a bit" The maid said slightly nervous
"Very well. You may leave now" Mitsuko said. The maid bowed down and left the area
"Do we really have to wait for her?" Asuka asked
"Be patient. We must eat together as a family" Mitsuko said
"Ugh...she better hurry" Asuka said. After a minute, Sachie walked down the hallway and arrived at the dining table
"Sorry for keep you waiting, mother" Sachie said and took a seat
"It's okay Sachie" Mitsuko said
"Next time please get up early" Asuka said
"...have you heard anything from mom?" Sachie asked and took a bite of her food
"I'm sorry sweetie but maybe later we'll be able to hear something from them" Mitsuko said
"Mm..." Sachie said and looked down. She kept eating and remained silent while Mitsuko only looked at her concerned
"Sachie, would you like to talk about it?" Mitsuko asked
"No thanks. I'm fine but thanks for worrying..." Sachie said
"Can I go train?" Asuka asked
"No. We'll wait until your mother returns. We need to keep an eye out and check the entire Kingdom. We don't want to get attacked like that again..." Mitsuko said
"Then we should do something about it instead of just sitting around and doing nothing" Sachie said slightly cold
"Sachie...I know you're worried. So am I but your mo-"
"She will die!" Sachie said as she stood up from her seat
"Sachie please li-"
"I've had nightmares about it! I don't want her to die! I don't want it to be true! Why the hell are we staying here doing nothing but watch?!" Sachie exclaimed
"Sachie, your mother told us to stay. She wants to protect us. I understand your pain...of not being able to do anything but...don't think she will be doing this alone because I won't let that happen. She's already done so much for me that it's my turn to do something for her" Mitsuko said
"Eh? What do mean?" Asuka asked
"It's nothing to worry about. Let's just sit down and eat okay?" Mitsuko said as she gave them a soft smile. Sachie only looked down before taking her seat and started to eat her meal again. The family finished their breakfast quietly and Sachie immediately left the area. Mitsuko only sighed softly as she rubbed her forehead
"Mother if you want I can speak with her about this" Asuka said
"No need Asuka. Thank you but...it's best if we left her alone for a moment. Why not go do something fun?" Mitsuko asked
"Okay but where are you going?" Asuka asked
"I'm just going to check up on the Kingdom" Mitsuko said as she patted her head softly
"Alright. See ya later mama" Asuka said as she walked away. Mitsuko smiled but soon that smile faded and touched her chest feeling it throb
Haah...seems I don't have a choice now
"Your highness? Are you feeling well?" The maid asked
"Yes...I'm just thinking. Please clean this up and call if anything happens" Mitsuko said and walked away
"Yes your highness" The maid said and started to clean up the table. Mitsuko only left heading towards the library and walked to the end of the library where she found the old abandoned section. She stood in front of the door and reached out to open the door. Mitsuko stepped inside as she started to sense the magic coming from the room

Flashback
"Mitsuko...I don't want you to understand this yet but once you grow older. You'll have to lead this Kingdom on your own" Her father said. The young girl only looked at her father and trembled
"I-I don't want to..." Mitsuko mumbled. Hojo only looked at her and sighed
"Listen Mitsuko...I know you're scared but there is a way for you to defeat them" Hojo said
"H-huh?" Mitsuko asked
"In the library...you'll find a door that is meant to be locked forever but...just in case. You may enter and use the power that is stored within the scrolls" Hojo said
"P-powers?" Mitsuko asked since she was slightly confused
"Powers that will help you throughout the battle. They can boost up your strength, speed, and resistance" Hojo said
"Hojo...no" Soha said as she stepped in and held Mitsuko
"Well...it's just a suggestion. I wasn't really planning on using that" Hojo said as he looked away and rubbed his head softly
"What is papa talking about?" Mitsuko asked as she looked up at her mother
"Oh it's nothing dear. Just...forget about it. Let's go" Soha said as she picked up Mitsuko. Mitsuko seemed confused and watched her father leave the other direction

"Mitsuko? Dear w-what are you doing here?" Soha asked as she trembled
"I have to mother. Or else...I will lose her again and I don't want that" Mitsuko said as she looked at her mother
"Mitsuko...I know your concerned but maybe there-"
"There is no other way. I know what I'm getting into...and I've already made up my mind. Either way...I was going to use it sooner or later. Now is the time...to use it" Mitsuko said
"But your grandfather...remember he used it a-and" Soha paused and trembled before tearing up. Mitsuko's expression soften and walked over to her mother before hugging her
"Mom...please don't worry about me. Everything will be fine...I promise" Mitsuko said as she smiled softly. Soha only reached out and touched her cheek
"Mitsuko...just please...be careful when you encounter it. Your body...might not be able to function as well as before" Soha said
"I understand...and please. Mind not telling this to the kids? I don't want them to worry anymore..." Mitsuko said. Soha only nodded before stepping away. Mitsuko turned to look at the room filled with magic
I must do this...to save them...and keep them protected. Just like....he did
Mitsuko only walked into the room and her body began to tense up because of how much magic the room was filled in. She noticed a couple of scrolls and looked forward meeting up with a portrait of her grandfather
"...everything will be okay. Don't worry...this is all for you and them" Mitsuko whispered before she reached out and touched the golden scroll
