II. Harlan

Next morning, there was a lot of buzz in the housing area. Harlan and Ajax were pretty confused with what was going on. But from what they heard, today they were going to have a whole day with Mr Bolin, the latin teacher, who had already planned the whole day in the Acropolis.
Ajax said, 'Oh man! You know we can't go out. We would miss the squad if we do and we can't risk it.'
Harlan replied calmly, 'We can just wait till they go or act like we are sick.'
So they went to the clinical area and pretended to be sick. The nurse kept telling them to go back but they insisted and with Ajax's newly discovered mojo (sort of charmspeak but still unnervingly different ability), it was not very difficult. Finally their class went away.
Ajax finally spoke, 'That nurse was totally irritated by us staying in the clinical area.'
'Yeah it looked as if she was going to whip us with bandages', Harlan agreed.
They aimlessly wandered around the school, going from classroom to classroom.
'Hey man, when is the extraction squad going to come and pick us?', asked Ajax.
'In about an hour. Why?', Harlan said.
'I don't know, I am getting a bad vibe here', he replied.
As if the Fates were waiting for him to say that, a teacher strode towards them and said, 'What are you two doing here?'
Harlan fumbled, 'Um we are.....uh.'
She looked all around and said, 'Good, you isolated yourself from the others.' Suddenly she turned herself into an Arai and moved forward with lightning speed.
But Ajax being his creative self, took off his jacket and threw it on the Arai to confuse her and yelled, 'Run!'
They ran through the corridors and through the gymnasium where Harlan toppled the rack of volleyballs to slow down the monster. They kept running but the monster had a few tricks up her sleeves. She blasted a column of fire towards the door and set the whole gymnasium on fire. Thankfully Ajax and Harlan were already out of there. Harlan hoped that the sprinklers will start and quench the flames.
Finally they were cornered in a driveway intersection with their backs towards the locked main gate.
'Nowhere to run now', the Arai sneered. 'Now, I will feast on.....'. She was cut short when a chariot slammed into her and she was thrown away.
The Arai tried to get up but suddenly two bronze arrows were pegged between her eyes and she dissolved to dust.
Harlan and Ajax both saw the charioteers. The archer took off his helmet and said, 'Hi, my name is Will Solace. Are you coming?'
