My Best Friends Dad

Chapter 7

Brody P.O.V

I'm supposed to be going over game plans for tomorrow but I can't get over this morning with Lily. He soft luxurious lips on mine. Our bodies pressed against each other. I can't stop thinking what would have happened if my son didn't interrupt. There is a knock on my door interrupting my thoughts.

"Come in" I answered and started to look like I was busy. I hear them come in and I look up to see John. Great! But I am curious why he is here. We have practice in like ten minutes.

" I just wanted to apologize for the way I was acting this morning." He says and it surprised me but I feel like there is a but coming on because really it's not I who he should be apologizing to it's Lily.

"Well thanks but it isn't me who you should be apologizing to it's Lily. Also I feel a but coming so........." I tell him. I lean back into my chair and dead pin him in his eyes and he gulps and I wanted to chuckle but didn't.

" I really think you are making the wro......." That's where I cut him off. This guy has some nerve. It's not that he is second guessing my decision. I don't give two shits about that it's the way he thinks Lily is capable like him which she is way more than capable that pisses me off.

"Listen kid, I have no clue why you are second guessing my decision. You have been only going here for what a day and expect to be at the top. That doesn't happen here. You work for it and Lily is the best choice. If you don't like my decision go to the principal or school board but I can tell you right now they will tell you the same thing I did." I tell him a little too harshly. I lean forward with my hands crossed on my desk.

"Now go get ready for practice. You got 5 minutes, you only need your helmet." I tell him very calmly. He nodds his head and left my office. I look down at my phone to see a text from Lily saying that her locker room was locked. I grabbed the keys and started walking toward her locker room.

When I came in sight Lily she is looking at her phone smiling which tuggs at my heart. She has had a lot going on this past year but when she smiles it's like that past year hasn't happened to her. She lights up the whole room when she walks in. You can have the toughest day and just seeing her brighten that day up like nothing ever happened.

Lily Pov

When I got to my locker room it was locked which is like always unlocked. I took out my phone and texted my uncle to see if he could unlock it but he texted back that he was at a meeting so I texted Brody. I standed there for like 2 minutes with no replies so I started scrolling through my pictures. Most of my pictures are of Jim and I. I stopped on a picture of Jim, Brody and I where I'm sitting on their shoulder with my hands up in the air during the sunset at the beach a few months back. I was having a hard time with my dad and to cheer me up they took me. I don't know what I would have done with myself if it wasn't for them. Since day one in Kindergartenwhen I met Jim they have always been there for me no matter what.

Flashback:

First day of school and I don't know anybody so at recess I'm sitting on the sidewalk watching the others play. When this boy my age walks up to me.

"Can I sit next to you?" the boy asks shyly. I smiled at him and nodded my head. We sat there in silence after a while.

" I'm Jim by the way." He says. I turned toward him.

"Lily."

"Like the Flower?" he asks makinging me giggle.

"Yea, It's my moms favorite flower and she calls me her little flower."

Jim stands up and stretches his hand toward me and I just stare at it not knowing what he was doing then I remember daddy would extend his hand to help mommy up or something. So I grabbed his hand and he helped me up then started to run without letting go. I giggled and began running with him toward the swing set.

End of Flashback

Been inseparable since then. People use to say we would get married then when he was 13 he found out he was gay. I was the first person he told and he was scared of what people would think but I told him it doesn't matter what they think only you. There is no shame in being who you are. I'll kick their ass if anyone teases you for it. Now I'm dating his dad who would have thought. Not me for sure but he is.

"What are you smiling at?" I hear Brody ask and makes me jump. I was so into my thoughts I didn't even hear him coming and also forgot about practice and the locker room.

"It's about time you got here. I've been waiting for centuries." I shouldered his question. He grabbed my phone and looked down at the picture and smiled.

" I remember this I was thinking the whole time she's going to fall and bust open her head and what not." he told me and handed me back my phone.

"I wasn't after all Jim was there with his strong handsome self." I tell him teasing him.

"Jim? What about me?"

" You're a strong sexy guy." I tell him and wink. I took my hand and lay them flat on his stomach then slowly began gliding my hands up to his chest to his shoulder down his arm. I stand on my tippy toes acting like I was about to kiss him but instead grabbed the keys and took a step back. He just looked at me like he didn't know what just happened. I smiled at him then turned around and unlocked the door. Then turned around and handed him his keys back.

"See you in a few minutes coach." I told him and winked before walking into the locker room.
