She was beyond peeved with these bikers just assuming she needed their help. Pulling into her driveway, she got out and headed into her house. She took a quick shower then got dressed for bed. Staring at the ceiling, she knew she needed to go grocery shopping so she wouldn't have to keep eating at the diner. Her cable still needed to be hooked up as well.
Getting her shop prepped and ready to open had been her only concern when she'd arrived. The house had already been furnished which she liked. The rent was a little more than if she'd found a house that wasn't but it didn't bother her. Less work she had to do when she arrived. Her pictures and posters still hadn't been put up to make her house more homely for her which amused her. She spent more time at the shop than her own home!
Glass breaking woke her up. Upon her brother's insistence, she always kept a metal baseball bat near her bed for protection. She didn't bring her gun wiyh her from the shop. Her father had taught her how to shoot when she was a pre-teen. Grabbing her bat, she quietly slid out of bed and stood flush with the wall to the right of her bedroom door waiting for whoever it was to come in. Just as she suspected, the door opened up. She swung as hard as she could breaking the intruder's nose immediately.
She swung again this time hitting him in the side of the head. He grabbed his aching head but she swung a third time hitting him in the back of the head. He fell to the floor unconscious. Checking to make sure he had a pulse and was still breathing, she dialed 9-1-1 and waited in her living room for the police to arrive. It didn't take long for police sirens to be heard. She opened the door for them and took them to the still-unconscious man in her bedroom.
He'd bled all over her bedroom floor irritating her. One officer checked his pulse then called for an ambulance. Another officer took her statement before the first one wen to see where the intruder had broken in. As he was carried away on the stretcher, she got a good look at his face. She gasped remembering him at the diner with Weston earlier. She told the police that as well who wrote everything down. It was more than an hour before the police and ambulance left leaving her alone once more.
With a groan, she set her bat back in its place and crawled back into bed. 'I think moving here was a really bad idea!' she thought as she closed her eyes and tried to go back to sleep, 'Between the Neo-nazis, the crazy bikers, and who-knows what else is going on around here...' She finally drifted off to a dreamless sleep. Her alarm startled her. She didn't think she'd actually gone back to sleep after the break in. She quickly got dressed and checked herself over in the mirror.
She'd just opened the shop when the sound of bikes could be heard. Before the overhead bell could be heard, she rolled her eyes. She was at the counter setting up her appointment book when it dinged. Glancing up, she found Tig, Jax, and Chibs walking in. She groaned as the blond headed biker leaned against the counter.
"Mornin' Darlin'." He stated.
"The fuck do you want now?" She huffed making Tig laugh.
"We heard you had some trouble last night." Jax stated making her eye him up.
