Gisela opened the door to about 19 curious faces, and one teacher.

"You must be Gisela Evermore." Her new teacher said.

"Yes, Ma'am, that's me." Gisela answered, with a respective bob of her blond head.

"You'll be sitting right in that corner, behind Fintan and next to Vespera." Her teacher informed her.

Gisela walked casually to her seat in the back right corner of the room. Along the way, she saw an ombre-haired boy, and boy with messy light brown hair playing some sort of game between the aisle separating them.  A lank, blond-haired kid was absent-mindedly staring off into space. A dark-haired kid was muttering under his breath, and glancing around every few minutes. She observed two twin girls passing notes to each other in the left corner.

When Gisela got to her seat, she sat down neatly, and draped the back of her bag over her chair.

The teacher stood up.

"Okay, everyone, how about we tell everyone our names, and what we enjoy most about life."

Gisela rolled her eyes.

"Cassius, since you're in the front row, let's start with you." The teacher ordered.

Some immaculate blond kid stood up, smoothed his shirt, and said,

"Hello, everyone. My name is Cassius Sencen, and the thing I am most proud of in life is getting good grades." He sat down.

The next person stood up.

"Hi, everybody. My name is Cyrah Arasing, and I am most proud of the time I made my own blue stone. I call it a starstone." She gracefully sat down, and Gisela noticed some kid kept watching her from the chair behind her. He stood up next.

"Hello, everyone, my name is Prentice Endal, and I am most proud of placing my trust in my best friend, Tiergan, who never let me down in life".

Gisela scoffed quietly. Ahead of her, Fintan turned around to shoot her a puzzled stare. She ignored him.

Tiergan stood up.

"Greetings, everyone. I'm Tiergan Alenefar, and I am most proud of the time when I started my own business, Granite Fortunes."

"Next row, starting with you, Juline." The teacher intoned.

"Hi, I'm Juline  Miracmueller, and I am most proud of making an enormous snow-and-crystal castle."

Gisela snorted softly, along with the sandy-haired kid, who had stopped playing with his game with his (cousin?).

"Hey, I'm Fernan Babblos, and I am most proud of breaking down the physical matter of many theories."

"Salutations! I am Circ Teslan, and I am most proud of building a gadget that can stun a whole room in 0.002 seconds." Said the ombre-haired boy.

"Hi, I'm Ruy Ignis, Circ's cousin, and I am most proud of shielding several people from seeing my coming actions."

"Nice to meet you. I am Alvar Vacker, and I am most proud of successfully spying on people without them noticing me at all."

"Hello, I'm Gethen Ondsinn, and I am most proud of predicting my mother's actions for a full twenty-four hours." That came from the lanky kid that stared off into space.

"I'm Vespera Folend, and I'm most proud of writing for twelve consecutive hours."

"Next row." The teacher said.

"Hey, I'm Jormic Lundren, and I am most proud of making people forget about me even when I'm two inches away from them."

"Hi, I'm Glimmer Elemantlet, and I'm most proud of winning the twins most amazing creation prize with my twin, Umber."

Her twin arose as she lowered herself.

"Hi, I'm Umber Elemanlet, and I'm most proud of building the first-ever micro-organizer."

"Hey, I'm Brant Blazith, and I am most proud of striking enough matches to power a machine in twenty seconds."

(A/N: Brant's middle name is Alger, but we have no idea of his last name. Darn it.)

"Hey, I'm Fintan Pyren, and I'm most proud of creating fire animals."

Gisela stood up.

"Hello, my name is Gisela Evermore, and I am most proud of winning ten different national competitions for a variety of things."

As she sat down, she could feel Fintan's gaze on her, but she refused to look up, playing with her charm bracelet. Her favorite charm was the silver, onyx-dotted scythe. When she felt Fintan's scorching vision move away, she looked up, and found herself staring into a pair of pale-blue eyes.

Fintan's eyes.

Uh-oh.

Gisela allowed herself to meet his burning vision head-on. His eyes widened ever so slightly. She smirked, then made a circular motion with her index finger.

Turn around.

He broke their staring, rolled his eyes, but did what she asked-ordered.

The teacher started talking about courses, schedules, and dorms options.

Gisela and most of her class decided to spring for a dorm. Unfortunately, that meant Mr. Staring Pyren. She scowled to herself.

The teacher-Ms. Marineta, told everyone to go and meet the other class.

"Have an excellent first day!" she called after them.

Gisela rolled her eyes.

Some first day.
