Beau's *POV*

"Hello?" I answered my phone that had been ringing for a moment.

"Hi, this is the nurse at the kindergarten, I have your niece, Quinn, here with complaints of weakness and pain. I don't know if you would be concerned or not."

"Umm, yeah I'm coming to get her."

"Oh, Uhh ok. She'll ready to leave then."

I ran out to the car and sped off to the kindergarten. Getting lost doesn't help.

When I walked in, I saw the nurses office and jogged to the door. "Hi, you're Beau right?"

"Yeah. Where's Quinn?" I dragged the "er".

"She's right here." Quinn slowly walked out with her teddy and backpack.

"Are you ok? Where does it hurt?" I hugged her, then held her close.

"In my leg and chest." She started crying.

"Listen, her dad Luke, didn't want anyone to know, but you need to know this. Quinn has cancer, so there's times when she wont be here, or she'll come to you. Just call me, I'll always come and get her while her dad is working."

"Ok, I'll have to put that on file, but that's terrible. I'm sorry, especially because she's so young."

"She's also adopted, so we don't know if she had cancer in the home or not."

"At least she has the care and love she needs. Get better Quinn!"

"It's gonna be ok." She bawled in my arms, heartbreaking.

"W-where's d-d-daddy?" Her bottom lip quivered.

"He's working. I'll call him when we know what's going on." I drove Quinn straight to the hospital, and they fit her in perfectly.

"Party for a Quinn Brooks?" I walked over to the nurse who walked me back to a room.

"It's bad."

"Will she make it?"

"Her cancer spread to her right leg and almost her lungs."

"But will she make it?"

"Her time limit is a year."
