N.B. Dear readers, what do you think so far? Are you enjoying the story? I'm new to this so, I'm writing this a little blind. Is the story line going to slow? Is it going to fast? Are you liking the way the story is progressing? Please let me know, your feedback would really be appreciated :)
~Hinata!?~
What? What's going on? Why is everything dark?
~Hinata!! Please!!~
What happened? Did I pass out?
~Come on, Hinata!?~
All I remember is Fìonn's smile. Then I got dizzy, I.....
~Don't just stand around!! Someone get the nurse!! Hinata!!~
Why did this happen? Why am I feeling this way!?
~I'll carry him!~
Who's voice is that? Why do I recognise it?
~Hinata! Everything is going to be ok!~
I need to open my eyes. But.... I feel so weak. Come on! Open your eyes!
Hinata with all the strength he can muster, slightly opens his eyes. His eyes can't focus, his head is still spinning, he feels like he could throw up, he still can't quite catch his breath.
He can sense that he is moving..... but how? He tries to focus his eyes. He realises that there are someone else's arms wrapped around him. Who's are they? Looking up, he can see a blurry figure. He can't quite make them out but he knows who it is. The figure looks down and gives a cute, crooked smile:
"F-Fìonn......................."
Hinata opened his eyes. He was still feeling groggy. He was trying to make sense of his surroundings. Where is this?
He's in a bed in the nurses office.
"Oh, you're awake!" a voice said.
Hinata looked over and saw Fìonn sitting next to the bed.
"What happened to me?" Hinata enquired
"You just collapsed. You were unconscious for hours" replied Fìonn.
"WHAT!? HOURS!? WHAT TIME IS IT!?" Hinata exclaims.
"It's 4"
"Oh No! I'm late for volleyball practice! I have to go!" Hinata panics trying to get out of bed
"No you don't!" Fìonn says sternly. "You're not going to practice, you need to rest. I promised the nurse I'd take you home when you woke up!"
"But, I can't, I need to go" Hinata complains
"That's not happening!" commanded Fìonn, grabbing Hinata's arm. "You collapsed! You can't just brush that off! I'm taking you home! Even if I have to carry you!"
Hinata looked at Fìonn, he could see the stern but concerned look in his eyes. His pretty blue eyes....
"OK......." Hinata caved.
The doors to the office slide open.
"Ah good! You're awake!" said the nurse
"I've already contacted your parents and told them that Fìonn is taking you home. Oh! I bumped into Suga and told him what happened. So, he can explain your absence from practice" said the nurse as she pulls a chair next to the bed.
She takes a pen and a clipboard and starts to note something down:
"So, how are you feeling?" she enquires while writing on her clipboard
"I'm fine. Can I go home?" Hinata asks.
"Yes, you can go home. Just be careful and let Fìonn help you" She instructs.
"What happened to me? Why did I collapse?"
"Well, based on what Fìonn described, you could've collapsed from exhaustion, or from a sickness bug"
The nurse gets up to leave the room: "Or who knows, maybe you're in love..." she laughs.
"Get home! Get some rest! Make sure he gets home!" She instructs to Fìonn.
Fìonn nods in acknowledgement
Those parting words echoed in Hinata's mind:
~"Maybe you're in love...Maybe you're in love...Maybe you're in love"~
In love? Me? In love with who? Fìonn? That can't be right. I'm not gay.... Am I? No! I can't be.... I'm not...It must be the exhaustion...I haven't slept properly for days...maybe that's it...Yes! That's it! But...Fìonn is the reason I haven't been able to sleep...This can't be...I just need to rest...that's all...This is stressing me out...
Hinata tries to get out of the bed. Fìonn offers an arm of support
*SLAP*
Hinata slaps Fìonn's hand away. Fìonn looks shocked...
"I DON'T NEED YOUR HELP!! GET THE FUCK AWAY FROM ME! JUST LEAVE ME ALONE, YOU FREAK!"
Fìonn is stunned. He just stands there, in shock. What did he say? What did he do to make Hinata so angry all of a sudden?
"Hinata, I-I..." He quivers.
"GO AWAY!!" Hinata screams.
Upset and verbally wounded, Fìonn leaves.
Hinata eventually stumbles home. As he enters the house, his mum rushes to him and embraces him:
"My dear, are you ok? The school called to say what happened? What happened? Are you hurt? Is this because you haven't been sleeping? The nurse said a classmate was helping you home! Where is he? I want to thank him! Does he need a lift home? Are you..."
"MUM!" Hinata exclaims. "I just want to go to my room"
"I've made you something to eat"
"I'm not hungry...."
"But you need to eat something"
"I'M NOT HUNGRY! JUST LEAVE ME ALONE!" He screams as he thumps upstairs and slams the bedroom door behind him.
Hinata collapses onto his bed. Tears start to stream down his face. Why did he shout at his mum? She was only being concerned. Why was he so horrible to Fìonn? He was only trying to help.
But... there is still things he doesn't understand.
Hinata has never questioned his sexuality before. In fact, he's never really had an interest in anyone. Volleyball was his life. But... is what the nurse said true...
"Am I in love with Fìonn...?"
