Chapter 6 - The Kindness Of Humans

Let me ask you guys something...

We all know that Pierce is the quiet one of the group, only saying one word. "Yes." Right?

Well, what if he wasn't originally like that, though? What if he is holding himself back from speaking at all? What if something caused him to stay quiet?

1st POV

"Okay, okay. Maybe not Lexie." I shook my head slightly, giving a slight hum in thought before asking once more, "what about the female with the mismatched eyes?"

"Oh! Yellow and grey eyes, white hair, and blue horns?" Noi guessed. I nodded, "yes, her. What was her name again...? Well, either way, what about her? Any thoughts?"

"Hm..." Noi hummed in thought, playing with my long hair before responding, "she's alright. Nice enough to let me stay in her house for the night but I'm sure she has eyes on another guy. Either way, I'm fine with just being an acquaintance with her."
I gave a sigh, another total fail.

The past few hours or so, Noi and I have stayed inside his chambers just chatting up about anything and everything. At the moment, Noi was playing with my hair while we were discussing about what kind of Daemos would he court. I suggested five different ladies, all to which Noi didn't find an intrest in. I once joked about suggesting me to court him to which Noi turned red and stuttered out a no.

I wasn't serious but now we both planned to use it as an inside joke just for the laughs.

I felt him pull my hair up and twist it a few times, straightening it out and sometimes messing with it. "Alright, maybe not a Daemos lady..." I paused for dramatic affect. "...but what about a human?"

I could feel him freeze his movements.

"Yeah...! Say, what about Ava?" I wondered outloud.

I felt him tense up for a moment.

Just a moment though.

"Ahah... nope!" Noi awkwardly laughed, playing with my hair once more, "she seems nice- only when she's not mad. Ava also doesn't seem interested in courting someone at the moment."

"She turns red when you boys are near her," I pointed out.

"Maybe she just gets mad easily but tries not to show it...! It can explain her red face!" Noi guessed. "Or maybe she gets flustered-" "or embarrassed!" Noi interrupted me with a laugh, showing that he hasn't taken intrest on her yet. Yet. I shook my head with a defeated sigh, "you are hopeless with companionship, Noi." "Wha- HEY! You're not any better!" Noi grew slightly defensive. I scoffed, "I sure am."

"Uh huh," Noi sarcastically agreed along, "okay let's start with... Lief!"
I raised an eyebrow. "Lief?" I asked. "Yup!" Noi nodded, "what are your thoughts about him??"
I closed my eyes and hummed in thought, leaning my head back while Noi massaged my scalp now. "A total bafoon. A lost cause. He is a tease to the ladies, an assassin with the biggest ego but the smallest brain. Not up to my level," I stated matter a factly.
