Chapter 9 - Ava Is Sick!

Oki since we're into the spooky season, I'm making a draw of the boys in their costumes. But because I have no idea what to make them wear, I'm asking if you guys have any ideas?

Like, what would suit Asch? As a vampire or as a demon?

Things like that.

(Y/N)'s POV

I gave a groan as I stretched my limbs.

Let me tell you, staying seating for more than 7 hours while reading a mountain of books is not how one should spend the day.

Trust me, my butt hurts and my legs are doing that thing where it feels like static. (Feet are asleep, god I hate that-) I wiggled my toes slowly, feeling the need to stop moving my feet in order to make the pain stop. But it was normal, I did this quite often in the palace.

I did a few stretches, pulling my arms to touch my toes in order to stretch my back. I heard a few pops coming from my back- which for the love of gods did it feel fantastic.

I heard a suiz sound, meaning someone phased through the cray-o-la wall. I looked up and sure enough, it was Rhys. He didn't seem to notice me- perhaps because I was on the floor stretching my legs. I heard him mutter something to himself, but it was so loud might as well announce it to the world, right?

I saw him walk in on Ava's room, keeping the door open. I followed suit, keeping quiet on my steps while I sneaked up behind him. I stood there for another minute or so, watching as he dug through Ava's drawer. Eventually he picked up a pink book- that combat guide!

"Didn't we already look through that book?" I asked, spooking him in the process. He jolted forward in alarm, throwing the book at my face. The book itself didn't get damaged but my face did.

'Geez, I knew he's strong in magic because of how frequent he practices it with Lady Grandma but I didn't realize he was strong too!'

"Uh... ouch?" I rubbed my nose lightly, massaging the tip where it got hit. "You shouldn't be sneaking up on people, I could've caused a lot more damage!" Rhys scolded me. I rolled my eyes before picking up the book, "no need to get all cocky in your strength, Rhys. You're still second to last out of all of us in muscles."

"Yes but I'm second most powerful in this group," he gave a smirk in pride. "That's because you spended a lot more time with Lady Grandma than I did," I gave a challenging smirk.

I looked over the cover of the combat guide before asking, "so why are you, of all people, in Ava's room when you are the one who tells us not to enter?" "I came in search if she had anything that could help us learn about humans," he explained. I looked up at him, raising an eyebrow. "Really? You couldn't of just read her informational books?" I asked.
He seemed surprised. "Books?" he repeated.

It was my turn to give a look of surprise, "you didn't see me read a bunch of books on the couch throughout the whole week that we've been here?"

"I-I thought those were yours that you brought!"

"Why the hell would I bring a bunch of books of mine when we're in the new world?!" I yelled in disbelief. 'This guy REALLY must be blind if he didn't notice those bookshelves!!' I gave a sigh before calmly asking, "did you atleast see those bookshelves?"
