Martial Law

After the five left, they immediately got into their disguises, guard uniforms. They all felt extremely anxious, nervous, betrayed, but that didn't stop them from focusing on the main task at hand: saving Minho. Jess, unlike the others, felt extremely nauseous, not only because she threw up earlier in the morning, but because deep down she was thinking, 'What if Minho is already dead? What if...?' Jess knew there was no point in regretting their decision, as they were all getting into their positions.

Thomas, Jess, and Teresa walked alongside each other into the tall building. Guards were situated in a line on both sides of them. The trio walked past the censor, in which it turned green. Jess looked around the large room. It was very professional, clean, and ornate. The three were stopped by a guard in a red suit - Newt - who turned to walk with them as well.

The group headed down the stairs to the area of the parking garage where they marched down the hall. Subtly, another guard joined in with the parade and followed them - Gally. Teresa led them to a door. She scanned her card and opened it with ease. The group flooded into the stairwell.

"Hold on, hold on!" Gally said, "I can get in here."

He stood by an electrical box and felt for a latch to open it.

"Throw me the walkie!" Thomas commanded.

Gally obliged and returned to his work. Thomas started down the stairs as Teresa sat down. A coughing noise erupted, turning the head of Jessica to her boyfriend Newt. He stood against the railing of the stairs holding himself up. The girl rushed over to him to pat his back in hopes of him hushing. When he finally did, Jess looked down at the curious black haired girl and gave her a pitiful look.

"Frypan, we're in. How you doing?" Thomas asked through the walkie once he came back up the stairs.

"Yeah, yeah I'm getting there," Fry said over the device, "Tell Minho 'hi' for me."

Frypan was climbing up the crane's ladder. He was to sit and wait for Brenda to arrive at the spot.

"Hang in there buddy,"

Gally yanked open the electrical box and started fiddling with wires, "this'll work."

"Brenda, what's your status?"

"Status is, I'm working on it,"

"Copy. Just make sure you're ready on your end."

"Don't worry. You know I'm gonna be there."

Brenda was scouting out the bus area, finding a fit ride for the lot to escape in. She was to help Thomas and the group out onto the bus and drive it to the spot for Fry to pick them up. Gally braced the router onto the lid of the box so the others could jam the security system.

"Got it,"

"Let's go," Jess ushered, rubbing Newt's shoulder in the process.

She knew that he was in pain and she hated the fact that she could do nothing about it. But as Newt said, 'Don't worry about me. This is about Minho, now he needs us.' There was nothing that she could do to change his mind and she was trying to respect that.

"Somebody's moved him up to the medical wing. Thomas, that's on the other side of the building," Teresa said, looking at Minho's file on the computer.

They had just saved the other immunes, but Minho was nowhere to be found. Gally was welding the vault open in hopes of getting the cure for Newt.

"Okay, take me to him. Right now,"

"All right. I'm coming with you." Newt said.

"Newt, no you're not. You have to stay here, wait with Gally for the serum,"

"You can't do this on your own," Newt argued, "Minho comes first, remember?"

"Just go! We're wasting time. Jess and I will get the serum, we'll meet you out back." Gally commanded.

"Okay fine, let's go, come on."

Jess and Newt locked eyes and nodded at each other. They didn't have to say 'I love you,' or 'be safe,' because they knew the other was thinking it.

"Hey Greenie, good luck," Gally shouted at the trio.

Gally continued to do his job as Jess guarded the door, watching for anyone coming their way.

"Okay, we need to get out of here, now," Jess said.

The alarms were blaring loudly which could only mean one thing, Thomas and Newt were spotted.

"You stay close to us. Stick together. You, you guard this with your life, you understand?" He said handing the serum to a boy, "All right, let's go."

Gally jogged off, Jessica following in pursuit.

"Stay low, stay low!" Jessica ordered the young immunes.

She and Gally were leading them through the parking garage to get to the bus that had been waiting for them. Brenda, a knight in shining armor, would drive the bus to the spot, where they would be picked up by Fry and the crane. The group ran down the ramp as Gally screamed into the walkie.

"Brenda, where are you? We're here."

A bus came jerking to a stop.

"Come on, let's go." Brenda smiled.

"Alright, let's go. Quickly, quickly."

They rushed to the other side of the bus.

"Front and back, front and back."

"Wait, where's Thomas?" Brenda asked in pure confusion.

"We were hoping he was with you," Jessica said.

Brenda started to walk off the bus.

"Wait. Stay here with the kids," Gally commanded, "Wait here. We'll find him. Just wait for us, okay?"

Then, Jess and Gally pulled their masks down and ran off again.

"You two!" A guard yelled at Gally and Jess, "A search for subject A1, A5, and A4 have been set out. We need extra hands on this perimeter."

Jessica and Gally glanced at each other before warily walking over to the group of WICKED  guards. They nodded to each other and raised their guns ready to shoot them. Suddenly, yells were heard from above. The group looked up to see an object fall from the sky and into the water below. Then, more splashes. The group raised their guns up to the mysterious cannonballs.

"You three! Don't move!" The guard from below yelled.

The three turned around and pure feared washed over their face once they realized that they were caught.

"Take it easy!"

Thomas moved his hand down to the gun holstered on his hip.

"Uh-uh, don't even think about it!"

Suddenly, Jess turned sharply and shot at the speaking one. Then the next, Gally got the third. They turned back to the trio and took their masks off.

"Gally?" Minho muttered.

"Minho,"

Jess chuckled and ran up to the Korean boy she thought of as a brother, "I'm so glad you're alive you dumb shank."

Minho chuckled and hugged her back, "You too, you feisty slinthead."

"You guys are nuts," Gally commented and turned to leave.

Jess looked back at Gally before turning back to Minho, "I'll explain later. Let's go,"
