"That was insane," Amanda exclaims, stretching out beside M'gann on a soft picnic blanket that was spread out under the welcoming embrace of the sun.
Amanda was loving the peaceful atmosphere, a big difference from the chaos her and her friends endured in the cave. As they work on rebuilding, Amanda suggested they take a breather outside, surrounded by the soft sound of leaves rustling and the comforting warmth of the sun.
"Yeah, it was a lot to process," M'gann responds, her voice carrying a touch of disbelief. The events of the day before was weighing heavy on her, especially the loss of Amanda's wardrobe, and Red Tornado's unexpected betrayal. She can't shake the feeling of betrayal, struggling with the unsettling truth that someone they trusted could turn against them.
"I still can't wrap my head around Red Tornado's betrayal. He was one of us, a League Member," M'gann muses, her gaze drifting to the blue sky above them. The betrayal left her feeling confused, her mind filled with questions and doubts.
"It's almost unreal, you know considering he's spent the most time with us," Amanda reflects, her tone tinged with a mixture of disbelief and disappointment. Red Tornado had become a constant presence in their lives, a trusted alley that they depended on.
As both girls lie side by side, the bond between Amanda and M'gann shines through, proof of their strong bond. Despite the weight of their shared experience, there's a comforting solidarity in their friendship, a wordless understanding. They've faced tough times side by side, their friendship formed at really hard time in her life, and it's moments like this where Amanda was grateful to have the girl in her life.
With a shared glance, Amanda sat up, determined to lightening the mood. She understands that focusing on the betrayal will only make them feel worse, so she wanted to talk about something more exciting.
"Spill! What's the deal with you two? I see you two all secretive and close." Amanda teases, nudging M'gann playfully. Caught off guard by the sudden shift in tone, M'gann's lips curve into a hesitant smile, her eyes showing a hint of amusement.
"Don't play coy, you two have been real close, closer then normal." Amanda chuckles, her tone laced with affectionate teasing. She's noticed the change in their relationship, Amanda wasn't stupid, they would always disappear when she wasn't paying attention, and when she found them, the blush that would make it's way onto M'gann's face was a dead giveaway.
There's a warmth in their banter, their familiarity speaks volumes about their close friendship. They have a bond that goes beyond words, a silent agreement to support each other through life's challenges.
