3rd Person POV
Warning: foul language, small violence, self harm
"Roman," Patton whimpered, sinking into his chair.
Remus stood up, his eyes growing darker as his brother shut the front door and walked towards them. Virgil and Logan stood up too, both of them coming to Remus's side.
"Why are you all acting like I'm a villain, when the real villain is standing right next to you?" Roman hissed.
This made Patton mad, he stood up suddenly, the bowls on the table shaking, and glared at the startled prince.
"He's not a villain!" he yelled, tears burning at his eyes, "Sure he might have done some bad in his life, but that doesn't mean he can't be a good person!"
Patton almost crumpled to the ground, but arms wrapped around him and he looked up to find Remus holding him.
"Patton he's corrupting you!" Roman yelled at him.
"Ok Roman, enough," Remus handed Patton to Virgil, and walked face-to-face with his brother, "Your problem isn't with Patton, it's with me, so stop yelling at him. If you really want me gone I'll go-"
"Remus no!" Patton screamed, but Remus held up a hand and looked back at him.
"Patton, I can't be the reason you're in pain, it'll destroy me," he looked back at Roman, "I'll leave, but I want you to know that it's not for you, but for him. I love him with all my heart and if you can't see how you're hurting him, then you're the villain."
Remus looked back at Patton one more time, tears falling down his face and walked into the basement.
"Remus!"
Patton shook Virgil off him and ran to the basement door. He knew it would be locked, but he tried to open it anyway. It jiggled as he shook the handle and tears fell from his face.
"Remus!" he yelled again, "Butterfly!"
He stood there for a second, his glasses blurring as tears pooled on them, before he straightened himself and looked at the others and smiled.
"Sorry about that," he said shakily, "I'll go clean up now, you can eat breakfast without me."
"Pat..." Virgil reaches for him.
"I'm ok Virg, Roman was right," he looked at Roman, "He was corrupting me."
Without another word, he walked upstairs, leaving the others dumbfounded.
As Patton walked upstairs, he glanced at Virgil's room and stopped just outside his door. After a couple seconds he turned around and quietly opened Virgil's door. It was dark, but not dark enough to blind him. He looked around and found Virgil's nightstand. Hurriedly, he tip toed over to it and began rummaging around till he found what he was looking for. A pencil sharpener. Quickly, he closed the drawer and ran into his bed room.
He sighed when he shut his door behind him. He felt bad about stealing from Virgil, but he hoped that the cool headed male wouldn't notice. He set the sharpener on his nightstand and started to undress, pulling some clean clothes over his body when he was undressed. He sat on his bed when he was fully dressed and began cleaning his glasses.
"Oh Remus, I hope you're ok," he whispered to himself.
When he finished cleaning his glasses, he settled them back on his face so he could see and looked at his nightstand. The sharpener sat there glinting in the light of his bedroom, begging him to pick it up. The usually bubbly side sighed in defeat, reached for the little hunk of metal, and started to loosen the screw.
