3rd Person POV
Warning: foul language, self harm/mention of suicide
Patton couldn't understand much anymore. Every day he did the same thing over and over again. He woke up at seven in the morning and made breakfast for the others and then he hid in his bed room till dinner, made dinner, and went to sleep. After Remus left, there wasn't much for him to look forward too.
He stopped wearing vibrant clothes, wore more jackets, slept and ate less. He started to be more like Virgil than Patton. And the only one who didn't seem to notice, was Roman.
He pranced around all day acting as happy as he ever was and never seemed to notice how much pain Patton was in. Logan and Virgil tried to help him, talk him out of it, but everything they tried only seemed to make him worse. And they'd often find him staring at the basement door.
They didn't know how to help him, but they did know who could...
A quiet knock sounded through the quiet hall and Virgil flinched as it startled him.
"Virg, it's Logan," Logan's voice drifted to Virgil as the male whispered, "Are you ready?"
Virgil slid off his bed and threw his hoodie over his head, walking to the door and patiently waiting Logan. He opened the door and quickly slipped through, closing it silently behind him.
Without a sound, Virgil weaved down the hall, purposely stepping on floor boards he knew wouldn't creak and signaled for Logan to follow. He glided down the stairs, wincing each time he heard Logan behind him, which was often. When they both made it to the bottom of the stairs Virgil turned around, annoyed.
"Could you have been any louder," he whispered urgently.
"Technically speaking, yes," Logan replied, clueless to Virgil's sarcasm.
"Whatever, lets just go."
He waved a hand, to occupied to explain it to him. He whirled around and started stepping towards the basement door. Reaching a hand into his hoodie pocket, he pulled out a key with a chain with the same symbol on it that was on his jacket.
"I didn't know you had a key to the basement," Logan commented, watching over his shoulder.
"Every dark side does," Virgil replied, shoving it into the key hole, "And if you ever tell anyone I will kill you."
Virgil glared at the nodding male until the lock clicked. He pulled his key out and put it around his neck, and open the door.
"Ok, be careful going down these stairs, it's dark."
"Well, I can see that," Logan chuckled, "So let's go."
Virgil rolled his eyes and took a step down. His breathing started getting harsh and his body started shaking the further down they got. He hadn't been back into the basement in years, and he was scared that he would be stuck there again.
"Wait," Logan whispered.
He put his arms around Virgil and pulled him close, forcing him to sit on the stairs with him.
"Let me go first, I can clearly see this makes you uncomfortable."
Virgil opened his mouth to object, but nodded. Logan stood up and squeezed past him, and stopped for a second to grab Virgil's hand. They continued to walk down the stairs for a little until they ended. They couldn't hear anything, but the did see a dim light that seemed to be coming from a closed door.
Logan glanced back at the outline of Virgil that he could see and watched as he nodded before walking up to the door and knocking on it quietly.
"Janus?" a voice sounded from inside, "What do you want?"
"Actually, it's Logan and Virgil."
There was a loud thud and fast steps coming towards the door and it swung open, showing off a red eyed, puffy faced Remus. He glanced around the hallway and quickly pulled the two of them in. His room was dim, but it was bright enough to tell that Remus hadn't slept in a couple days.
"What are you doing here," he practically shouted, "You're idiots. And you're an even bigger idiot," he added, pointing at Virgil's key still hanging around his neck.
"I know, I'm sorry," Virgil a few steps toward the frazzled male, "But we needed to talk to you. Patton needs you."
Remus scoffed and sat on his bed, brown and white hair was ruffled and unkept, his clothes dirty.
"Patton doesn't need me, he's better off without me," he said shakily.
"Remus," Logan sat next to him, "Even I can see the signs. Patton is in need of you and I don't believe we have much time."
"What do you mean by not much time?"
Virgil and Logan glanced at one another and Virgil sighed.
"I think Patton is cutting," Remus gasped quietly, "And I think he's going to try and kill himself..."
The car hummed as Patton drove along the high ways. The world around him seemed to blur as his mind curled with dark thoughts. It was the middle of the night, so the roads were quiet as he drove onto a tall bridge and stopped. He wasn't planning on anything, but now that he was here, the idea burn brightly in the back of his mind.
He got out of the car and walked to the edge of the bridge, climbed over the rail, and stared down to a rushing river many meters below....
