My rude ass sat on the stairs where Levi had abondoned me and my ill-mannered attitude, my eyes shedding waterfalls of salted tears that were tainted with disappointment and shame in my own self. As I got up, I wiped my eyes, then made my way down the hallway, my eyes never leaving Levi's somewhat opened door to his office. My heartbeat acting up as I approached it. As soon as my hand touched the cold metal of the door knob, the original thump I felt in my chest was no longer present, or so it felt like to such a titanic extent. Then again, I only had so much to live for. My hand yanked the office door open as I ran in, eyes closed in fear. When I reached the middle of the office right in front of his desk, which it's location I memorized due to the fact of all the times I've been in here, I threw my hand up into a lousy salute,
"Captain!"
I shouted without hesistance. After a moment without a response, I forced an eye to open. Squinting as I looked for Levi, I saw none of the sort. Disappointed, I let my hand fall to my side as I slumped, sighing. He wasn't in here at all, and I ran in here like a fool shouting out his title. As I turned around, I shoved my hands into my pajama pant's pockets and made my way out of the office, and into the kitchen. Whilst in the kitchen, I got a small drink of water and walked back out into the main hallway.
I can't possibly fall back asleep with these mixed emotions suffocating me. I felt disappointment in myself, horrible, like a failure. How did I dare scream at the Captain like that? I did it without even thinking because I was pissed off, and because of an idiotic reason, to. What, so I had a head ache. That gave me no right to lash out on Levi like I had done. No right at all. This was no time to be getting into these fights with the Captain, when there was only two days left until the mission that I was for some reason dreading. Wait. Two days ...left? My eyes opened wide as I realized the short amount of time left. A moment after figuring this out, my vision faded as I saw only the pair of fingertips brushing against each to no avail and heard that ear curdling, male scream. I immediately hopped of my chair and ran outside of castle-like base. Sprinting as fast as I could, I dodged and ducked under miniature obsticales such as bugs, branches, and bushes. From time to time I'd feel a burning sensation in my arms, and I knew I had gotten scratched by a thorn or something similar. As I hurled over the last branch, I skidded to a halt as I reached my location.
The beautiful sight of the pale, cream moon awed me and took my thoughts away as I stared up at it, watching it stare back at me. I sat down on the edge of the cliff and inched closer, reaching a hand out into the sky. Levi had always told me about this place, and how he'd always come here when he wasn't feeling right. I let my eyes fall to look to the bottom of the cliff, only to see a pile of sleeping houses, and a dozing town. Now I understood. I knew that there was always something that relaxed someone, but I could never get why sitting near doom on the edge of a huge cliff could relax you. Once you sit down, your worries melt away as your eyes do the same into the beautiful landscape that lies both beneath and above you. Suddenly, I was brought out of my daze as I realized something. Obviously, the fued that had happened with me and Levi should've bothered him. I got my hopes up and spun around, looking everything behind me in search of Levi himself. Unfortunately, he wasn't here. My hopes died down as I turned back around and stared forward at the blue sky.
"Hey ... are you okay?"
