I couldn't believe that just about three hours ago, I was sitting on the top of Levi's favorite cliff, hoping he'd show up, and now I'm warm inside and lieing in bed. For the past fourty minutes or so, Jean had sat down next to me and talked and talked and talked and talked. Just conversing with him made me feel ...better. Still no sign of Levi, though. Possibly in the restroom, or hiding away in his office. Even though Jean managed to cheer me up, I still feel horrible about my attitude towards my Corporal. I have to apologize eventually, I couldn't just avoid him and he'd have to stop avoiding me, too. Turning over and groaning, I looked at the clock. Ten AM. Today, we weren't training, so I flung my blankets off and stood up, yawning and stretching. I stepped out into the hall, looking around into the pure silence. There was literally no sound. I perked a brow and continued down the stairs. The farther I got down, the more noises I began to hear. I finally reached the bottom, and after doing so, my hand froze on the door knob.

The door. Where the incident had happened. Any little thing will remind me of this, now. As I opened the door, I was greeted with a crowded hallway filled with murmuring people. Frowning, I looked around until I saw two rather tall men next to each other and made my way towards them.

"Jean, Marco! What's going on? Why's everyone in here?" I asked, looking around. When I looked back at the boys, they both raised their shoulders in unison.

"No idea." Marco simply replied, Jean adding on.

"Yeah, no one knows. When Commander Erwin woke us up he told us to stay down here until further instructed."

Before I could respond to Jean, Marco began to speak.

"Hey ..wait a second, why weren't you called down yet? We've all been waiting for atleast forty minutes down here! Did you barely wake up?"

"Ou?" I looked at Marco, frowning in confusion, "yeah ..I just woke up. Commander Erwin didn't wake me up today. And he shouldn't have, either. Today's a no train day."

"Well, that's what we thought, to. Why'd you get to sleep in?" Jean pushed on, slightly frowning.

"Trust me, guys! I honestly don't know. Have any of you eaten brea-"

"Silence."

The room immediately hushed down as the recognizable, soft, yet deep, voice of the Captain flooded the whole corridor. Everyone spun around to face the front of the room as their feet stomped down and their right hand flung up over their chest. After exchanging looks, Jean, Marco and I did the same.

"Excuse the long wait, but I have announcements to make." As if on cue, the Captain's eyes and mine locked contact as he spoke. "Eren Jeager, Jean Kirstein, Marco Bodt, and Bertholdt Hoover. You will all fight alongside me in two days. Or in other words, Marco and Bertholdt were temporarily added to my squad for the upcoming mission, clear? Yes? Questions? No? Okay. If you do have questions, my office. Go eat." With that long sentence, Levi was already entering his office.

Perking a brow, I look at Marco and Jean, everyone except Marco shrugging, who looked extremely nervous.

"I'm on Captain Levi's squad now?!" Marco asked as he frantically looked around at both me and Jean, clutching onto Jean's arm.

I laughed as Jean flinched in shock at Marco's sudden clutch to his arm, him slowly nodding. "Yeah, you are, but, my arms not a titan. Please ..don't kill it."

"B-But, that means I have to train harder, a-and eat better, work harder, and overall become a better human being so I'm worthy of my existence!" Marco spat out.

Jean continued to flinch because it seemed like with every word Marco spoke, his grasp on Jean's arm became tighter.

"W-Woah! Marco, calm down! He picked you because obviously, you're a good fighter, calm down!" I said, attempting to be reassuring.

"Right!" Jean added, managing to slide his arm away from Marco and wrapping it around his shoulders, "Just keep doing what you do and don't worry about it, alright?"

Marco slumped down and made a face at both of us. "Easy for you two to say, you've been on his squad for almost a year now!" With the last whine, he stomped away into the dining hall.

Jean closed his eyes and let out a deep sigh. "I'll go talk to him ..." With that, Jean sheepishly smiled and jogged off into the dining hall, calling out Marco's name.

I raised two brows and looked around. Well. That was dramatic. Glancing over to the Captain's door, I saw a glimpse of black hair. Obviously, Levi was in there. Now would be the best time to apologize. Taking a deep breath, I stomped over to Levi's office and set my hand on the door knob. Staring down at it, I let out my held breath.

"Fuck ...I can't ..." I whispered to myself as I let my hand slide off the doorknob. When I looked up, Reiner and Bertholdt were standing next to each other looking innocently at me.

"O-Oh.. go ahead, I wasn't entering, sorry." I said, looking down.

Reiner and Bertholdt both smiled and walked in at the same time, even though Bertholdt looked paler than usual. Eeh ..kinda creepy. I slid against the wall and sat on the ground, legs somewhat opened wide as I traced my finger along the floor lines.

"Sir, I will be speaking for Bertholdt. He is questioning your decision of putting him on your squad for the upcoming mission and wonders why out of all the other people, you chose him." I heard Reiner's loud voice boom out, even though Levi's door was closed.

"Are you telling me I made the wrong choice? Or that Bertholdt wishes to miss out on this opportunity?" Levi responded back.

"N-No, sir! T-That's not exactly the point Bertholdt wanted to get across. See ...He's naturally ..awkward, a-and shy-"

"Reiner!" Bertholdt interrupted Reiner with a whine.

"What? You know its true, Berty. Anyway.. He doesn't feel safe when I'm not around."

"Frankly, I can't help you two with this problem. I will not remove Bertholdt from my squad and I will not add you, Reiner. I have you off because I need you to be a squad leader and I have Bertholdt on because his unexposed strength would be of a great assistance to me."

Even though the door was closed and I couldn't see them, I knew that Levi was glaring at them. Whenever Levi makes his point and no one talks afterwards, he'll always glare. Moments later, Bertholdt and Reiner walked out whispering to one another, completely ignoring me. Shrugging, I stood up and set a hand on Levi's door knob once more. And once more, it slid off in despair and shame.

"Damnit ...L-Later .." I promised myself as I backed away into the dining hall, staring at his door the whole way there.
