When Kayla walked back into her father's hospital room with the ice bucket, she noticed that she had walked in on a stare down, between her father and Michael. They both quickly turned to look at her but neither had seen her hesitate at the door briefly before she walked back in.

"Well, I'm going to take off. Did you need me to take you home?" Michael asked her.

"No, that's okay. I will call Lori. She was wanting to stop by anyway."

Michael was not sure what to say to Troy, so he quickly said bye and walked past Kayla and out of the room. He took a deep breath when he walked into the waiting room.
