It was the next day. I got ready for my rehab session. I wore a purple sweat jack and pants. I put my hair up in a messy bun and grabbed my tennis bag. I went over to the tennis court and saw Hannah swinging her racket. Hannah waved at her and and call me over. I went up to Hannah. "What are we doing?" I asked. "Well you will have a partner to work with today," she said. I raised an eyebrow. "What do you mean?" I questioned. Hannah looked behind me. "Kunimitsu, over here," she called out. {What?} I turned around and there he was in his blue sweat suit and his tennis bag. He came to us. "I am his trainer as well. You both will be helping each other today," she said. I didn't know what to think.
"Ok, you two stretch before we start," she advised. We spent ten minutes doing stretches. "Now, I want you both to do ten laps around the tennis court," she instructed. We ran our laps. I am able to run but, not as fast as I used to. As I ran my laps, I notice that Tezuka would look behind himself every now and then to see if I was there. I didn't know why though. I would blush when he looked at me. After we did our laps, Hannah wanted us to rally for a bit. For Tezuka's recovery, Hannah instructed me to rally light. It would help with Tezuka's mobility and flexibility of his left shoulder. After ten minutes, I realized that he was really good at tennis. His form was perfect. We rallied for a good twenty minutes.
"Ok, now I want Kunimitsu to swing his racket forty times. Yumi, I want you to run twenty laps this time around the tennis court," Hannah instructed. I ran my laps. Again, Tezuka would sneak a glance at me as he swung his racket. as I ran around the tennis court I could see Hannah looking at us. (She is up to something.)
After our rehab session with Hannah, we were excused to go to our rooms to rest. I went to my room and took a shower. I planned to go into the city after I rested for a bit.
After an hour of rest, I head out of my room. I saw Tezuka get out of his room as well. He saw me get out of my room and walked towards me. "Are you heading out to the city?" He asked. "Yes, I am," I said. "Is it alright if I go with you?" He asked. My heart thud in my chest when he asked the question. "Uh...sure," I said. We head out to the city.
We decided to stop by at a cafe for lunch. We ordered sandwiches. We ate facing each other. I was about to take a bite when I heard him ask a question. "Why are you in rehab?" I lift my head and faced him. he had his serious face on and memories were coming back. I looked down at my sandwich. I put my sandwich down and spoke my story about the bus accident. After when I was done, I lift my head up and saw his eyes soften for a bit. "I am glad that you are alive then," he said. I gave him a small smile and then continued with my sandwich. After we finished our lunch, we went back to the rehab center.
