Marissa
This is where it all changed. This is where it all went wrong. I'm sure not one of the six of us wanted this to happen. It was all just an accident. Maybe if I had a different shift it wouldn't have happened. Maybe if Olena wasn't such a gullible idiot it wouldn't have happened. Maybe if Dallen hadn't fallen in love with the wrong person at the wrong time it wouldn't have happened. Maybe if Jenna would have kept her big mouth shut it wouldn't have happened. Maybe if Remington hadn't finally broken it wouldn't have happened. Maybe if Nolan wasn't such a slut it wouldn't have happened. If we weren't in the group therapy, I know it wouldn't have happened. But the fact is, it did happen. All of it. And here's how.
It's the day after the prep rally. I beat Chasity's ass and she hasn't said anything to me sense.
I'm at my job at the Barnes and Nobles. I'm not even supposed to be working there. I'm not even 16 yet. Not until next month anyway. But Barbara's brother owns the Barnes and Nobles and she told him to give me a job here. So here I am, stocking the new teen novels, not knowing that my life is going to change in just two seconds.
"Hi, can you help me out Miss?" I turned around to see a boy my age, looking irritated. He's taller than me, but then again so is everyone else. He has brown hair and crystal blue eyes that shine brighter than the stars.
"Sure. What do you need help with?"
"I'm looking for a book for my girlfriend. I can't decide which one I should get her," he says, running his hand through his dark curls.
"Well what does she like to read? Can you remember any books she has read?"
"She doesn't really read all that much," he says. He doesn't look as irritated as he did before. I mean hey, the guy is attractive. Not going to lie.
"Then why are you at a book store?"
"I don't really know actually," he says smiling. He puts both the books back and turns back to me.
"She's a cheerleader and always complains about not having enough bags. Do you guys have like those tote bag things that you can customize?"
"As a matter a fact we do. I'll start one off for you. We can put her name on it and then you can choose any designs you want for it," I say.
"That would be awesome," he says and smiles. Of course he has to have a girlfriend. I guess I shouldn't really care. I just got out of a relationship and I probably won't see this guy ever again.
"Okay, let me write her name down. What's her full name?" I ask, grabbing a piece of paper and a pen from my small purse.
"Her name is Autumn Morsatti," he says, still smiling.
My smile drops. "Does she by any chance go to Bunder Wood High School?"
"Yeah, she does. How did you know?"
"I go there."
"Oh! I go to Caigen. But I'm transferring to Bunder Wood in a week or so. I moved and it's going to be great since Autumn goes there," he says.
"Right. Autumn is just such a great person," I lie. Autumn is such a bitch.
"I'm Michael by the way. But you can call me Mikey."
"Well okay then Mikey. The bag will be done in two to three days. If you have a membership you should be getting an email soon about the designs you want," I say.
"Okay. Thanks for the help by the way. I guess I'll see you at school soon," Mikey says.
"Sure. See you at school," I say. Mikey smiles at me one more time and then leaves.
