Dear Starlight,

I wish upon your
return despite
knowing every combination
of our inevitable
recklessness.

I miss it all.
Especially the way we'd
talk and pretend as if
destiny wasn't
waiting to pull the
rug from beneath our feet.

What was it that you
loved so much about me?

The way I looked up
at you when we spoke
because you were taller?

The way I was
addicted to
your contagious
smile even if you
weren't aware that I
knew you faked it just
to make our suffering
a little more bearable?

It must be the sight
of me being under you
when making love was our
only way of showing
sincerity in the
way we feel.

We broke each other so
that we can be made
from scratch.

I craved your touch,
even at times when
you no longer felt
like home.

I miss your lips
against mine.
You tasted exactly
like how I imagined
the flavour heartbreak
would be like.

Bitter, sweet,
and just the right
amount of spice to
bring tears to my eyes.

"Starlight"

You are,
and always will be
my favourite wish.
