Chapter 46

"You go first." I said as soon as we reach the gate in our compound. Not an actual gate but just an open passage to enter and see our houses.

"Nah, I'm sure you can go first." Taehyung whispered back beside me.

Our ice creams long gone and finished. Our foot already numb from the long walk but not that we mind it anyways.

"Hey, you're the one who dragged me out yesterday." I nudged him with my elbow.

"You enjoyed it too, do you?" He nudge me back with the same intensity.

"Uhm... Yes but-" I cutted my self off, looking at him with puppy eyes. "You go first."

"Aish." He went behind me before holding both of my upper arms and pushing my body forward. "We go together."

"What together? Why are you hiding behind my back?" I grabbed his wrist and pulled him beside me.

"Together doesn't mean I shouldn't be in the back." He said his excuse while pouting.

"Together means we should be beside each other." I told him.

"But it can also mean that we're at each other's back." He childishly replied.

"That's supporting, dummy." I said before facing forward and shrugging our pointless and childish argument that went behind the point.

"But still-" he cutted himself off before pulling me across the street to the nearby wall.

"What?" I asked as he pulled me to hide but he just shushed me and took a peak to whatever he is hiding for.

Soon, I heard him sighed in relief before pulling me from behind him. "I thought it was our parents."

"Oh yeah?" I mumbled while looking at the two people walking from afar. "What if they're out there just waiting for us?"

He look at me for a moment probably thinking about the scenario.

"If that happens and if we saw them with a slipper or belt in hands, we gotta run run run okaie?" He whispered, his voice seriously worried. "But if there's none, we go hug them and say I love you okay?"

I laughed at the last sentence before nodding my head in approval.

We entered the gate hands in hands, cautiously looking out for any living human beings.

Instead of running directly to our house, we stood far away just to see if there's someone by the door, before nodding to each other.

"Let's see each other again later?" He turn his head to me.

I smiled in response. "By the tree?"

"By the tree." He responded almost instantly.

When I thought we're going to separate ways and stepped out, he held me back.

"Where are you going?" He asked me before pulling me back beside him.

"Uhm... Home?" I answered, unsure of what he's up to.

"Who said you're going alone?" He replied while giving me a look.

But we just said goodbye?

His words are seriously puzzling me.

"What?"

"If you entered the home alone, you'll get scolded for going out." He paused. "But if you're with me, I'm sure auntie would think twice."

He winked at me, proud of his plan.

"Or we got scolded together." I added.

My words brought him in thought for a moment while his lips turn into a slight frown.

In less than second, he smiled happily again before nudging me. "At least we're getting scolded together."

I chuckled at his positive thinking.

"What about your mother? And grandma?"

He sighed his shoulder. "Mother only, grandma knows about this."

I look at him in surprised. "She knows?"

He chuckled at my reaction. "She's the one who planned this, told me to bring you out to our old spot."

"Woah." I blurted, obviously speechless.

"I'm sure grandma already talked with my mother so no worries about them." He said while chuckling.

"Then why are you so worried earlier?" I asked him as I remember all his warning and the say I love you thing.

"I was worried for you, dummy." He give me single glance. "I've seen auntie got mad when we were Young I was terrified."

I chuckled at his words. His face is half worried, half terrified. Like the mere thought of it is really scary for him.

It's true though.

"Yeah, kinda." I nodded, agreeing at his little speech. "Anyways, Your grandma is amazing."

"Indeed, she is." His lips instantly curved into a smile.

"Time to go."

I nod my head to him as we both step out of our hiding spot.

Everyone here wakes up early so we're not surprise of seeing them already immersed with their jobs.

Taehyung pulled me gently to walk beside him. Unlike what I expected, our footsteps are way too slow and collected. More like he's taking our time, more like he's trying to make the trail longer that it should be.

More like he's trying to get more time and enjoy our last moment together.

That thought made me turn to him.

Is he? really?

He seems to notice my eyes and turn to look back at me, his lips formed into his box smile.

Why do I feel so wierd? He's been really confusing since earlier. What is he up to?

With no said word, I continued staring at his face. Trying to picture everything that I can. The nervousness slowly building inside me as we arrived at our house's front door.

He gave me one last smile as he held my other hand, bending slightly to reach my level. "You."

I look intently at him. Waiting for his next words.

He then widened his smile, giving me his most sincere cute and boxy smile.

"Promise me one thing." He look directly in my eyes.

What's up with him? What is happening?

His eyes met my confused one as I waited for him to finish his sentence.

He stood up straight, facing the door while I face his side, still in utter confusion.

"Don't forget me."

And with that,

everything, once again changed.

He- No. I disappeared.
