4. "Past Pissed"

The drive back to my house was silent, just me telling him the way to get to my house.

When he pulled up he sighed and looked at me.

"Thanks for the ride." I said about to get out. He pulled my hand back, gently yet firm.

"Aaliyah, say you forgive me please." He begged. I sighed and looked the other way.

"You forgive me please." I said smiling.

"There's my best friend. I'll see you tomorrow ok." He said giving me a hug as I got out. I walked to the house and unlocked the door.

"Momma! I'm home!" I yelled up the stairs.

"Up here!" She yelled back.

I went upstairs to see my grandma watching tv, laying down.

"How was school." She asked.

"Good, guess who goes there." I said to her.

"Who?"

"Demetrius." I said.

"Short and geeky Demetrius?" She said as I nodded and laughed.

"Ah, you ought a invite him over to hang some time." I nodded and left her room.

"Yeah, well I'm about to take a nap momma." I said leaving her room and going to mine.

Jacobs Point of View

It's been a little over two weeks and Aaliyah and I talk? See the reason why I'm questioning that statement is because we're not buddy buddy, she doesn't even greet me without me saying anything to her and it actually kind if hurts my feelings. I really like her and I want to get to know her more but it's just not working out and it's killing me.

"Hola clase," Señorita Listle said to the class. I was sketching on my notebook and looked over to Aaliyah's seat, she wasn't there. I didn't pay much mind to it but I actually didn't feel like being in class much longer so I raised my hand and asked Listle could I go to the counseling office. She said yes and didn't ask why so I left the building, without getting caught.

I actually didn't know what to do now. So I did something that two weeks ago I wouldn't think about doing.

"Hello?" She asked answering the phone.

"Hey, you at home right?"

"Yeah, what you wanna come over?"

"Yeah, I guess. I'll be over in a minute." I said beginning to walk.

"Bye baby."

"Bye Nicole." I said hanging up the phone.

Aaliyah's Point of View

I slowly got out of the bed and went to the bathroom. God I was such a dumbass.

I was with Marquise and had skipped school. My mama was going to be pissed and Demetrius was going to be past pissed.

After putting my clothes on and making sure Marquise was still sleep I left his house. I was going to walk anywhere and call someone to come and get me but I just decided to walk, my head needed to be cleared.

After some minutes one of the people I definitely didn't want to see came into view.

"Shit." I whispered to myself looking for a place to hide.
