Loving Jaycee

Chapter 8

Justin's point of view

I fell asleep last night on the chair next to jaycee's bed holding Alanna's hand has she slept. My two girls. I know I'm going to have to tell Alanna that I'm leaving in two days to continue the U.S. part of the tour. I wish they could come with me but, with Jaycee's condition, I highly doubt that would be possible.

I suddenly felt my phone vibrate in my pocket. Since the girls are sleeping I walked out into the hallway and answered.

"Hello?" I said.

"Justin. Where are you? You never came back last night."

"Mom." I sighed. "Jaycee's in the hospital."

"What? Why? What happened?! Is she okay?! Oh my gosh." She said panicking.

"Well. Her blood pressure went up and caused a fever and she was unconscious and when the doctor came to update us, we found out her cancer spread faster than she thought. So, she's getting her catheter put in this afternoon and tonight she gets her first dosage."

"Oh my gosh poor baby. Do you mind if Ryan and I come by?"

"As long as you come before 3. And can you bring me a pair of clothes? I know Alanna's dad is coming up around eleven to bring Alanna and Jaycee things, so I can call him and tell him that your coming so you can ride together, he brought Alanna here last night."

"Alright I'll see you in little bit Justin. Stay strong for that little girl of yours."

"I'm trying mom, but it's hard. I'll see you later." I told her and hung up.

I got off the chair in the hallway and walked back into the room and noticed Alanna was a wake.

"Hey." She said.

"Hey." I smiled back. "How are you?"

"I'm okay. Just stressed out. How about you?"

"Same. My mom and Ryan are going to come up with your dad they should be here soon."

"Alright. That's fine. I'm going to wake her up." She tilted her head towards Jaycee and I nodded.

Alanna's point of view

"Baby." I shook her a little and kissed the top of her head.

"Momma?" She said lifting her head to look at me. "Where daddy?" She said looking around the room.

"I'm right her princess." He said kneeling on the side of the bed and taking her little hand. "How do you feel?"

"Ucky." She said whining.

"I'm sorry baby girl. But uncle Ryan, papa Bill and grandma pattie are coming to see you."

"Really?!" She said with a smile on her face.

"Yes baby but mommy and daddy want you to eat your breakfast first." He said.

After she ate her breakfast my dad, Pattie and Ryan came into the room and right away jaycee had the biggest smile on her face.

"Uncle Ryan!" Jaycee squealed. She adored Ryan. You can tell he is Jaycee's best friend no doubt.

"How's my favorite niece doing?" Ryan said tickling her.

"Me better now." Jaycee said smiling. She put her arms up wanting Ryan to pick her up, and since she only had 1 iv in her arm Justin and I gave it an okay that she could.

" I brought something for you bug and I thought me you and daddy could have a contest." Ryan said.

All of a sudden Jaycee'd head perked up from Ryan's shoulder and she had the biggest smile on her face. "Call of duty!"

"Yes." He said laughing. "Go sit with mommy while I hook it up." He said and put Jaycee back on the bed.

After awhile of Justin Ryan and Jaycee playing it was just Ryan and Jaycee. And the whole time Jaycee was winning. And everyone in the whole room exploded with laughter due to Ryan getting beat by a 3 year old.

There was a knock on the door and I went to answer it. It was doctor borne. "Can I speak to you and Justin for a minute." I nodded and called Justin over.

"I know it's only 2 o'clock but, I just want to tell you what's going to happy." She said and we both nodded. "Now due to how strong Jaycee's cancer has progressed, I'm going to install a tunneled catheter. Which gets inserted in the chest area. Due to her being so young, I want to put her to sleep. I just want to getting the okay from you guys. You and Justin can be in the room when it's done it'll only be around an hour process."

"Yeah that's fine." Justin said and I nodded.
