Secret Santa

I woke up to yelling. The boys were being loud, as usual. 

Ellie and i stared at each other in confusion. 

We got up to see what was going on  but all we saw were the boys wrestling and messing around. 

I shouted off the top of the stairs "You guys woke us up for this?!" 

All eyes turned to us. Now i noticed that apparently Caleb had been invited over and he looked over at Mason and Lucas who were staring at us smirking.

  All of a sudden Lucas and mason sprinted up the stairs toward us.

 Ellie grabbed my arm and we ran to our room. 

We tried to slam it shut but Masons foot stopped the door. We were so close. 

Lucas picked me up and Mason picked up Ellie. They tossed us over their shoulders.

 "What the hell did i do this time?" Ellie complained. 

"Oh nothing we were just bored" Mason replied back as they sprinted back down stairs with us on their shoulders. I scoffed at their immaturity.

 Caleb laughed as he saw our positions. They sat us down at the breakfast table and each of us shoved our big brothers. 

Jacob and Jackson were drinking coffee. Ellie broke the silence "Yeah ok i doubt you brought us down here for no reason. Whats really up?" 

Jacob cleared his throat "Christmas is in 3 days as you might remember, so we gotta decide how we will do gifts. Any ideas?"

 "We normally do secret Santa" Griffin put in. 

"Yeah that works". Jackson left the table and came back with scraps of paper, a bag, and a pen.

 I grabbed as scrap along with everyone else and scribbled my name on it. 

We each put our names in the bag and Jackson shook the bag so the names would get mixed up.

 Caleb was technically "part of the family" so he was included. 

He went first and reached his hand into the bag with his eyes closed. He pulled the name out and read it secretly and smiled "Hell yeah" he whispered. 

The twins went next and pulled their papers out and grinned at each other. 

I dont know how it happens but EVERY SINGLE GOD DAMN TIME they get each other for secret Santa. Every year since they were 5 years old.

 I know it cant be a coincidence and it must be some trick but Jackson has learned to except it.

 I really hoped i got Ellie when it came to my turn. Of course i had no such luck. I pulled out my paper and it read "Mason" in his messy handwriting.

 I always got the worst luck. I had NO idea what to get him. 

The rest of us pulled put the papers and ate breakfast. We were going to go shopping for Christmas gifts today.

 Apparently she had to get a gift for Lucas and i had to get one for mason. Neither of us knew what they wanted. 

So i asked Ellie since she was Masons younger sister and she asked me since i am Lucas's younger sister. 

"What do you think Lucas would like?" she asked me hopefully. 

"Um i mean idk he likes food, video games-"

 "OMG WAIT does he have the new PS4??" She said excitedly 

"Oh yeah thats a great idea actually he wouldnt shut up about it yesterday" I told her. 

Then i remembered i gotta get Mason a gift to so i asked Ellie "Any ideas for a gift for YOUR  brother?"

 She looked like she was thinking then simply said "I honestly have no idea. He likes Food, Video games, and Football" 

Then she left it at that and went into the bathroom to try and get dressed.

 I sat on the bed and thought about what to get him. I had to decide soon because we were about to go shopping. 

Then, out of no where, i had an idea. I grinned to myself thinking how much hes gonna love it.

 After we got ready, our names were called from downstairs to go shopping. We each hopped in the car and started driving.

 First Lucas and Mason wanted to go to Target to get their gifts. I just sat in the car and waited for 20 minutes until they got what they needed. 

Next we drove to the mall for the rest of us to get our gifts. 

Ellie spotted the PS4 she was gonna get for Lucas so we quietly snuck off and purchased it. 

Next, i spotted what i wanted for Mason. I talked to the guy selling them and placed my order. He told me he would have it made a day before Christmas and thats when i should pick it up. 

After we all got what we needed, we got back in the car and drove home. 

Ellie and i rushed upstairs to wrap our gifts.

 I hope Christmas comes fast!
