Different Path (Kakashi AU)

Chapter 5

I slice the rope that held Rin down as Obito undid the genjutsu.

Rocks started crumbling.

"Kakashi! It's going to cave in!"

Rin jumps up and grabs our hands.

"We got to get out of here!"

She drags us forwards and then let's go as she clutches her stomach.

"RIN!"

Obito shouts in worry.

"I'm fine. It just hurts"

My adrenaline pushes me forward but I am to slow to react to a large falling rock.

"KAKASHI!"

Obito shoves me out of the cave.

RIn and I cough at the cloud of dust.

My eyes widen once it settles down.

"OBITO YOU IDIOT! WHY WOULD YOU DO THAT!"

Rin starts crying.

"Bakashi...you are more skilled than me. If you died...it would be... a great loss"

Blood drips from his mouth.

"NO!"

I start pushing the rock with all my strength.

I can't lose Obito. He is all I have. Well. All I need. I love him more than anything in the world. He can't die!

"Bakashi...it's no use...don't waste your energy on me..."

"Shit!"

I punch the rock as my remaining eye waters.

"Rin...this is my last wish for you...I want you...to transplant my eye...into Kakashi..."

Rin nods as she wipes her tears.

She unwraps the bandages around my eye carefully.

"Obito..."

I hold his hand as Rin makes me lie down next to him.

"Kakashi...look after Rin"

"I will"

Rin uses green chakra to pull out his eye with the least amount of pain possible. My face tingles from her chakra as it works through my nerves. Attaching them the Obito's eye.

"Done..."

I blink a couple of times as I regain the rest of my vision.

"Bakashi..."

"Yes, Obito?"

"I...lo-"

The rocks fall as Rin pulls me back.

"OBITO!"

"Kakashi! We are surrounded by enemy ninjas. As sad as it is. We can't save Obito. He would have wanted us to survive and live on for him."
