A/N: Sorry for the long wait! I suffered from writer's block, plus, I have loads of school work to do. Hope you enjoy!

Justin looked at Linda unamused. He shook his head and turned away, slinging a bale of hay over his shoulder. "Linda, I appreciate everything you girls have done for me, but you ask too much of me. I can't tell you what happened while on the rig."

"Can't, or won't?" Linda asked sharply. She stared at Justin dutifully and waited for his answer.

He sighed and placed the bale down upon the growing stack of hay. He ran a shaky hand through his hair and turned back to face Linda and Anne. he leaned against the hay and avoided Anne's fierce stare, looking at Linda instead. "I can't. They really didn't tell me anything when I was there. All I know was that I was supposed to be a Dark Rider." He looked at Anne. "And before you ask, I did not overhear anything. I had guards watching me at all times."

Anne swore under her breath and began pacing. Linda nodded at Justin in thanks. "So you have no idea how they plan to release Garnok. Anne has no idea. Is there anyone who does?"

"Ask the Baroness. She is my grandmother and the ex-wife of my grandfather."

"Thanks, Justin. Sorry to bother you." Linda grabbed Anne and dragged her away to the path to the Manor. She felt like she was getting closer to the answers, but something seemed to be stopping her. Linda only hoped Avalon was having better luck.

For the past few days, Avalon had taken up residence in Fripp's Chambers, scanning every book there was that held history. He enlisted the help of Lisa and a semi-healed Alex. Actually, Alex mostly stayed on a make-shift bed in the chambers where Lisa could keep an eye on her. When she felt strong enough, Alex would shift through a book or two.

Today was one of those days. All three scanned several historical books for records on Lady Thrymson. Occasionally, Avalon would read a passage from the journal. And sometimes he'd revisit the entry that asked for Linda to go to Jarl's Tomb. He and Linda had gone to visit the tomb, and were greeted with new information.

"I first met Lady Thrymson when she still had the maiden name, Nilsen, at a dinner, during the construction of Jarlaheim. She was a sweet, innocent woman then." Jon had told the pair. Avalon scoffed at Vic being called "innocent" but he held his tongue. "I was present during her marriage to the Count. After that, she became more ambitious. but soon, her ambition turned to greed." He paused for a minute. "I've seen her with you Linda, here in my tomb before. She was honourable then. In my lifetime, she became less so. I'm unsure what happened." Jon refused to say more on the subject, and Avalon and Linda retreated.

Now, as Avalon would read through Vic's diaries, he had noticed a change. She went from talking badly about Darko and Katja to not talking about them at all. Though that detail worried him less than another would.

He picked up yet another historical record and began reading. The first fifty pages were nothing important. They were all just filled with mindless ramblings about famines and long-dead ancestors of the Baroness. Finally, after fifty pages, a small chapter caught Avalon's eye. He locked onto it and began reading.

The Lady in Time

No one knows where she came from. All anybody knows is that she lived in Jorvik for a small amount of time. For two centuries, historians have debated the mystery and potential madness of Lady Thrymson.

Her rise to power was a quick one. It started just weeks after her marriage to the future Galloper Thompson when the Great Jarl brought her into his council. She at first was civil to the Keepers but soon began clashing with them. The pairing was certainly odd and has been documented by one Keeper in section 35-B, paragraph 2 of the Birth of Jorvik manuscript. In the documentation, the unnamed Keeper states *"It was a strange, almost unholy union. Lady Victoria Thrymson claims she has no magic, and yet she has been touched by Aideen herself. That Victoria should marry Gunnar Thrymson, a man who is void of Aideen's light, is curious. They are truly an unlikely pair."
