The Keepers regrouped at Valedale, just outside of Avalon's house. Lisa was busy fixing the burns along Alex's body. Evergrey paced lightly while Linda sat on the fence surrounding Avalon's house, deep in thought. "I don't understand what went wrong? What happened?" Avalon muttered bitterly.
"I don't know Avalon! Do something! Get my— Get Vic back!" Evergrey grabbed Avalon's collar and shook him.
Don't make a spectacle of yourself Evergrey. Not here!" Avalon pried his brother's fingers from his robe and turned to Linda. "Well, did you get a vision about this? Did you know this would happen?"
"No, I didn't. Something felt off though, but I couldn't place it." She took a deep breath and looked over at Lisa and Alex. "Lisa, how's it going?"
Lisa looked up from Alex and let out a shuddering breath. "Alex will be okay. But, she won't be able to ride for a bit."
Linda and Avalon sighed in relief, then looked at the front door. "I wonder if Anne found anything in Vic's room."
As if the question was heard by Anne, the woman in subject let out a high pitched scream followed by a loud thump and a low "Ow!"
Linda, Avalon, and Evergrey rushed into the room only to be greeted by Anne holding a thick tome over her head, standing above Ydris. Linda gasped lightly while Evergrey became uncharacteristically silent.
Avalon bristled at the sight of the magician. "You! How dare you enter this house?"
Ydris looked up and scowled. He spoke low and calmly. "Now hold on Druid. I have some information for you." He looked at Anne with contempt. "Just call off the guard dog."
"Anne, stand down. However, Ydris, if you so much as step out of line—"
"Yeah, I know. I've heard it all before Druid. Besides," He eyed Evergrey. "You might want to get in line, behind your brother."
Evergrey was glaring hard at the magician and looked like he wanted to murder Ydris. "Speak quickly Pandorian."
"Unlike you Linda," he smiled cockily in her direction. "I actually saw what would happen, and tried to stop Vic from going. But no, she's too stubborn, just like her father." Ydris shot a pointed, albeit subtle glare in Evergrey's direction. "We spoke, last week. She refused to listen to my warnings, and now look at where she is."
"If you saw that happen, then you can also see the outcome from all of this. Tell us what will happen now." Anne bit out venomously.
"My visions aren't always clear. And when I look into the future, I'm only given swing dancing and fire. I also see a face that isn't a face. In fact, it is a body with no head. Not exactly the clearest picture ever. Maybe Linda would have better luck, but I highly doubt it." He smiled grimly.
Linda looked at Ydris closely before looking at the shelves in Vic's room. She thought back to each of the Dark Riders and her memory zeroed in on Katja. She narrowed her eyes in thought. "Do you think it has anything to do with Katja? She is the Nightmare Rider. I know it doesn't make sense. Illusions and the past don't really fit, but she does control the mirror version of the Moon Circle. I can look into the past, as can Vic. Maybe Katja can too. And, swing dancing is a thing from the '40s and '50s. As for the headless body, I'm unsure about that."
"But we can't time travel. How would that work?" Evergrey inquired. "Looking into the past and surfacing old memories doesn't constitute travelling back through time and space."
