"Good morning Y/N."

Patrick greeted you as you walked into your first period class.

"Morning Patrick. How are you today?"

The slightly pudgy boy smirked before taking a small sip of his coffee.

"I'm good. Just a little tired." He scratched the back of his neck and looked back up at you. "And you?"

"Excited." You grinned big. "I'm going to your show tonight with a few friends. I can't wait!"

Patrick began to blush and cleared his throat. He pushed his glasses up on the bridge of his nose. "I mean..." he paused. "It's not technically our show. We're just opening up for Rise Against."

"It doesn't matter." You shook your head. "You're band is still apart of it. You know?"

"Yeah."

You sighed softly, knowing Patrick's self deprecating tendencies.

"Plus, I heard the opening act is always the best!" You exclaimed. "-and rumor has it the one opening for Rise Against tonight has a pretty amazing drummer."

You watched Patrick's face melt into a soft, embarrassed grin. His face was super red.

You admired his face as he stayed embarrassed.

You've had a thing for Patrick for ages and always teased him just to make him flustered or blush.

His pretty red face never failed to make your heart flutter and ache.

"Thanks Y/N."

"Anything for my 'Tricky." You said in a sing song voice.

Patrick's POV:

Knowing Y/N was going to be here tonight really made me feel slightly better and worse.

Better because it was her and she wanted to see me specifically.

Worse because I liked her. She made me nervous and fidgety and she was so fucking pretty.

As the time of performance grew closer, I started to feel sick to my stomach.

I knew I was in for it. I was either gonna puke or pass out or something.

That was until I heard someone yell our name on stage.

"Let's welcome Patterson!"

My heart flip flopped as my band mates dragged me out to my position on stage.

I didn't want to scan the crowd for her, but my eyes still looked up and over the seventy kids we were playing to.

I felt a spark of pain in my chest when I didn't spot her anywhere.

Well, that was until I noticed her directly in front of me, grinning and waving at me.

I smiled small back before we started our first song.

Throughout the show, Y/N kept her eyes glued to me like I was the only person in the room.

I had a tendency to look in her direction more than a handful of times as well.

Each time a song ended, I'd watch her burst into applause and screams. She was cheering like her life depended on it.

Our set ended and we all had made our ways backstage where Rise Against were getting ready.

"Y'all killed it!"

I smiled.

"Patrick! Patrick!"

I knew it was Y/N by her voice.

I turned around and was engulfed in a huge hug. My body froze as her head was on my chest.

"You did amazing!" She giggled. "You looked so rad up there and amazing and so handsome!"

I blushed so hard as her grip on me didn't loosen up.

I awkwardly placed my arms around her and hugged her back, my heart thumping out of my chest.

"Thanks." I choked out.

"I mean, of course!" She exclaimed. "You looked so cool up there! You put on such a great show."

I nervously smiled and nodded as she grabbed my hand.

My sweaty, gross hand.

Her fingers were interlocked with mine as she pulled me away from everyone else.

"You wanna go get some ice cream?" Y/N asked, now grabbing both of my hands.

We were backstage and it was so super dark. The kind of place where I can only see her face in the darkness. Somewhere intimate I suppose.

It smelled like sweaty teenagers.

"Yeah." I grinned. "I'd love too."

She looked up at me and smiled. Before rushing out of the small venue and taking me with her.

We slowed down once we hit the pavement and walked side by side, fingers still interlocked.

Y/N led the way even though I knew where we were going. She seemed pretty excited for ice cream, as was I.

"Patrick?"

My head was snapped out of thought.

"Huh?" I snapped my nose her in direction and gave her a curious look.

She giggled before leaning into me. "You're cute."

I felt my insides melt. My heart felt light and airy and so good. She was so good.

I didn't say anything back.

We both stopped in front of the ice cream stand, waiting in line.

"Thanks for coming to get ice cream with me." Y/N mumbled, snaking her arms around my waist.

"I'd be crazy to say no." I mumbled back swaying her back and forth while also holding onto her.

When it was our turn to order our ice cream, Y/N paid for it all.

She was a dream, honestly.

"Thanks for buying. I will next time." I smiled at her.

She started to blush and looked down.

"Next time?"

I had just realized what I did.

"Yeah. Next time."

Y/N leaned up and have me a kiss on the lips.

As I moved my lips against hers, I felt my heart thumping in my chest.

She pulled away softly before grabbing my hand and giggling. "I like you Patrick."

"I like you too."
