I stop outside the mirrored doors of the theatre, looking behind me in the reflection, I can see that Archer is only just getting out of the car. Once he finally closes it I lock it. He he looks up and smiles at the where I'm standing.
I shoot him a glare, the person inside probably thinking I am glaring at them, awkward. Waiting by the door for his dawdling ass to finally reach me feels like forever. My eyes catch sight of the gaunt person staring back at me, her features betray the torture that shed been through.
I look away from my own reflection and turn to face the awaiting Archer.
The lobby and car park were pretty much empty when we got here, but by the time Archer and I finally make it inside, both are filled with people and the line is almost out the door. I am pushed forward from behind as we enter the packed line, right into Archer, who has a back like a freaking brick wall; I put my hands on his back and push away from him. From that brief moment of unwanted contact, I can feel that he is shaking. Is he nervous? What's wrong with him? Maybe he's sick.
As we shuffle forward in the line, I make a move to stand in front of him, but he shuffles away from me.
"You look a bit scared" I say, looking forward at the coke machine, I could really go for a drink now. I wait for a couple more seconds and then turning; I laugh at the look on his face. All scrunched up and confused.
"Yeah well I'm just waiting for somebody with a gun to jump out and shoot me if I get too close to you" I make a gun with my hand and put it to is side and he jumps slightly. I laugh loudly as he just stands there looking around nervously. I can't believe I'm doing this for Rein, he owes me big time. He shuffles away again from my presence again.
"Do you want me dead; Rein told me about your 'backup plan'" He tries to joke but his eyes give him away. He is seriously scared, of Neville. I sigh out loud and move closer again; "Dude stop moving away it's supposed to look like we're dating and plus it's only Neville that will be jumping out" I whisper to him.
He leans down to my ear and whisper back; "Yeah well I'm trying to save my own life and possibly yours, trust me Neville is worse than all the guns in the world put together" he does a quick scan of the place before leaning back down again "quick laugh like I just said something funny Rein and his girlfriend just walked in" I lean back and laugh, loudly and slap Archer in the chest, maybe a little too hard. He raises an eyebrow.
"Ha ha you're so funny, why are you so funny!" I move to slap him on the arm but he catches my hand, inter lacing it with his own. This is not happening, I try to let go of his hand, but he just squeezes tighter. His hand is soft and warm, it covers mine effortlessly.
"Dude let go, I will scream" I yank on my hand, but it still won't budge, I open my mouth to scream when I hear; "Hey guys, have you got the tickets yet?" Rein came right at the wrong moment, carrying his little girlfriend behind him. Wow talk about blonde bombshells, she has the deadest white blonde hair I have ever seen and the heaviest eye makeup to go with it, why would rein even go for a girl like this?
Archer squeezes my hand and leans down to whisper in my ear; "Just keep holding my hand, she keeps giving us weird looks" I tug on his hand and stand on my tippy toes; "Well that's weird, we actually agree on something" he gives me a confused look "I don't like her either" I explain.
"Guys this is Monica" he points to her she gives us a nod, her eyes trailing down my body, scrutinising what I look like, and what I'm wearing no doubt.
She gets into the questioning right away; "So how long have you guys been going out for?" She has a mischievous look in her eyes.
"Six months" Archer says as I say "Eight months" oh shit.
