I awoke to the smell of the salty sea and a yell coming from a distance behind me.

Sitting up, I realised that it was my mum—oh no.

'She's going to kill me.'

I stood up and half-heartedly walked over to her, rubbing my eyes with my knuckles as I did so.
"IZUKU MIDORIYA! WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN?!" She yelled, making me cringe with all of the yelling.
"I had a nightmare last night and just came here to calm down!" I explained as quickly as possible in the small window of time in which I had.
"I- Wait what?.. Oh. Well, next time just tell me."

I nodded with a sigh of relief, following my mother back to the apartment.
"Oh, and honey?"
"Yes mum..?"
"Your letter arrived this morning."

I jumped up and sprayed out a string of web, pulling myself up to our floor as quickly as possible, my mother chuckling as I swung onto the balcony and into the open front door.

I picked up my letter from the side and rushed into my room, slamming the door shut and ripping open my letter as I sat down on my desk chair, spinning around as I rummaged through the over-the-top-sized envelope for a small metallic disc.

As I pulled it out, my mum reached the front door and shut it.

Placing the disc on the table, I tapped the top of it and it buzzed, a projection appearing from a minuscule projector concealed inside the disc.
"I AM HERE!!"
"ALL MIGHT?!"

I sat there, a shocked, confused and gleeful expression on my face. Why was All Might in my U.A. letter?

"YES, IT IS I! ALL MIGHT!" I just cringed at his old-fashioned word phrasing and listened on, the long, dreary, boring speech that he obviously read from a screen in front of him passing over my ears.
"AND NOW, YOUR SCORES!"
I sat bolt upright, grinning at the projected screen.

"274 HERO POINTS!"

I paused, counting up my scores from the robots like it was playing out in front of me on a screen.
"What..? But the most I would've had was 73..?"
"I KNOW YOU'RE CONFUSED, MY BOY, BUT WHEN YOU BEAT THE ZERO POINTER, THERE WERE A HOARD MORE ROBOTS BEHIND IT!"

Doing some quick maths in my head, I figured out how many robots that would be.

My mouth fell open in shock.

"THATS LIKE 80 ROBOTS!" I exclaimed, holding my head, astounded.

"AND BECAUSE OF YOUR SPECTACULAR SAVE OF MS URARAKA, WE AWARD YOU 100 HERO POINTS!"

I almost fainted from shock.

"T-That's 374 points.." I whispered, falling back in my chair and rubbing the bridge of my nose with two fingers.

"BUT THAT IS NOT ALL, YOUNG MIDORIYA!"

I almost dropped dead at that. 'What more could there be?!'
"YOU ALSO CAME FIRST IN BOTH EXAMS; THE RECOMMENDATIONS AND
PRACTICAL EXAM! AND YOUR WRITTEN PORTION OF THE EXAMS WERE THE BEST WE'VE EVER RECEIVED!"

Now I was sure I was still dreaming.

"AND WITH THAT, I WELCOME YOU TO U.A., MIDORIYA MY BOY! WELCOME TO YOUR HERO ACADEMIA!"

Nope. All Might is just as cheesy in real life as that ending. This was definitely real.

'That ending was totally cringe..' I thought, grimacing at it like it was a pile of horse manure.

My mother wrapped her arms around me tightly, squeezing the last bit of breath from my already breathless lungs.

"YOU GOT INTO U.A., IZUKU IM SO PROUD OF YOU!" My mum exclaimed, beaming at me like I was God himself blessing her with eternal happiness. At this point I think she would actually smile less if both God and Jesus descended from heaven to give her something sacred.

"Mum.. air..!" I wheezed out, my face turning purple from lack of oxygen.
"Oh- Sorry honey!"
My mother let me go and I took in a few deep breaths, rubbing my sides with my hands from the bruises that were sure to come.

My phone rang out as I waited for the person on the other side to answer. After 4 rings, a beep was heard.
"Hello?"
A feminine voice came from the phone speaker, sounding surprised and confused.
"Have you got your letter yet?!" I asked quickly, a grin spreading across my face.
"Yeah, why?" Uraraka replied, then she gasped.

"Did you get in?!" She questioned, her words on rapid-fire mode. "Midoriya did you get in?!"

"YEAH!" I half-yelled, my grin widening happily. A joyful squeal sounded from the other side of the phone, and I guessed that she got in too.

"MEET ME AT THE BOTTOM OF YOUR APARTMENT BLOCK!" Uraraka yelled before hanging up, a beep ringing out to signify the end of the call.

I slid down the staircase's banister, a head of hazelnut-brown hair facing the opposite direction in my sights.

I jumped off of the banister and landed behind her quietly, grinning to myself as I gently tapped her on the shoulder.
"Hey." I stated calmly, my tone not matching my glowing smile.
"Midoriya!" She exclaimed, turning around and flinging her arms around me. I'm sure my face was pink at this point, because I sure felt the change in temperature.

I hesitantly returned the hug, smiling to myself. I just hoped nobody from my middle school was passing by to see this.

Unfortunately, not everything goes to plan, and not everyone learns their lesson.

"Hey Midoriya~" A familiar drawl rang out from the other side of the street.
"Ugh.. Gomu." I greeted, releasing the hug. Gomu crossed over to us, eyeing up Ochako.
"Got yourself a girlfriend huh?" He teased, making us both freeze up.

"NO!" We both yelled, our faces red. Gomu just laughed mockingly, circling around Uraraka like a predator that was stalking it's prey.
"Then I guess you won't mind if I do this then." Gomu grabbed Ochako's wrist and pulled her face close to his, going in for a kiss, making her shriek in surprise, and making me fuming with fury.

With one quick movement, Gomu was on the floor with a bloody nose and Ochako was stood next to me, my hand on her shoulder protectively.
"Didn't you learn your lesson last time, you moron?! I've had enough of you! What the hell is even wrong with you?! That can be accounted for as sexual assault, and if I wasn't feeling as nice as I am right now, I'd report you to the police! You're such an idiot!"

Ochako sighed out in relief and stepped closer to my side, a hand on my arm.
"Thank you, Midoriya." She whispered, her gaze still resting on Gomu.

I sighed, releasing my hold on her shoulder and rubbing my head in annoyance.
"He's extremely stupid, or he has short-term memory loss." I stated, turning around and walking back towards the staircase with a small headache.

I sat down on the steps, massaging my temples gently, trying to ease the throbbing in my head. Ochako sat down next to me and chuckled a little, making me look up.
"What?" I asked.
"Well.. I just think it's strange." She said, her face holding a small smile.
"What's strange?"

"That you'd do that for someone you've barely known for a few weeks."

I furrowed my eyebrows, looking down at my hands.
"Well, you're essentially the only friend I have now.." I started, "You're the only person I have, except for my mum, so it's sort of natural for me to not want to lose you to someone, not to mention the fact that they tried to kiss you."

Ochako placed her hand on my shoulder, smiling gently at me.
"I don't know what your life was like before the Entrance Exam, but just know that I'll stick with you the whole way through."

I nodded, sighing with a small grin on my face.
"Thanks."
