IM SORRY FOR NOT POSTING BUT MY WIFI IS BEING A DICK! This will be my last post for a while (sorry) but I'll try and stock up on some pre-written chapters for when I can actually post again!
School ended 5 hours ago, and I had decided it was best if I waited for the sun to start sinking before I make my debut as a real vigilante, so here I was, perched on the edge of a building, watching as the sun sunk below the horizon.
Thirty minutes passed before twilight twinkled around me, the moon and stars being the only real light there was, as most of the street lamps were broken or out of commission for the city to work on fixing the broken ones.
I trembled in excitement at the thought of being a vigilante, fighting crimes and having a secret identity.I was going to be a REAL vigilante!
Pulling my mask on over my eyes, I activated my Spider-Sense and started jumping from building to building without making so much as an ounce of noise.
I couldn't hear anything but the whistling of the wind around me as I leaped from roof to roof, my heart pounding as I searched for something, anything I could do.Eventually, I heard a small scream coming from an eerie, winding alley, the shadows marking it as an ominous, dangerous place to be.
I followed the sounds of a struggle and found a group of criminals pinning down a girl (who I assumed was around 17), small smirks on their disgusting faces as they ripped her handbag from her hand.
I waited in case they let her go, counting the small-time criminals (4 thugs) as I watched, but instead they grabbed her wrists and pulled out a rope, starting to tie her up.Deciding I needed to intervene, I dropped down to the ground, landing silently, and walked up towards the men, not making a sound as I sent a swift hand to the side of one of their necks, making them fall unconscious next to me. I stopped their fall before they could make any noise and crept up behind the next two, sending the same karate-chop motion to the sides of their necks as quickly as I could. They fell next to the first guy, making a small thudding sound, alerting the last thug to my presence.
He whipped around, pausing in what he was doing, his eyes resting on me and then the three criminals on the ground next to me.
"You!" He growled out, his eyes glaring into mine. "What did you do to them?"I clicked my tongue and folded my arms, a smirk visible through my mask as I replied.
"Simple really. I hit a pressure point on their necks, making them fall unconscious."
The girl was dropped onto the floor as the thug approached me, his fists locked into place as he prepared to fight.
I shook my head and waited for him to attack, dodging out of the way before he could finish his full swing at my head. His arm was now outstretched next to me from behind, so I gripped his elbow and forearm, leaned down and in a swift motion swung him back-first onto the ground. Before he could get up, I placed my foot onto his stomach and dug my heel into it, watching him squirm in pain underneath me.
"That's for picking on innocent civilians, you bitch." I stated, before sending a small karate chop to his neck and knocking him out.Dusting off my hands, I looked around to spot the lady who was there, who was backed up against the wall and trembling slightly, eyes widened as she darted her eyes from one thug to another.
I slowly walked towards her, trying my best not to scare her off. She looked up at me with fear in her eyes, starting to shake ever more violently with every step I took.
"Hey.." I said, my tone as gentle and calming as I could get it, "I'm not here to hurt you."
I dropped to my knees next to her and placed a hand on her shoulder, getting a good look at her appearance now I could see her through the twilight. She had pearl-platinum hair tied up into two buns on her head, golden, illuminating, cat-like eyes filled with fear as she looked at anywhere but me. I used my other hand to cup her cheek and gently turn her head so she was looking at me, humming a small melody to fill the uncomfortable silence between us.
She was stock-still with shock as she gazed at me, her eyes unfocused and starting to fill with tears.
"It's alright.." I whispered, bringing her into a loose hug, "They can't hurt you now.."
She rested her head on my shoulder as tears streamed down her pale cheeks, small choked sobs echoing around the alley. I continued to hum a song, eventually hushing her sobs as I stoked my hand down her trembling back. She took a shaky breath in and pulled away from the hug, wiping her cheeks with her pale jumper sleeve.
"Thank you.." She mumbled out, her tears ceasing, leaving small blotches of red around her eyes.
I smiled, though I doubt she could see it, and reached over for her bag, grabbing hold of the handle and passing it to her.
"Do you want me to accompany you to wherever you were going..?" I asked softly, carefully selecting my words as I spoke.
She nodded silently and gripped my wrist tightly, leading me to a decent apartment block, lights illuminating the street around us."Who are you..?" She said, tilting her head slightly and letting go of my wrist.
I paused for a second, pondering my Vigilante name.
"Call me.. Redback." I said, loosely folding my arms, "as in the Spider. I don't actually have a red back."
She laughed a little at my attempt at comedy before heading into her apartment block.I waited for the door to click shut before setting off again, sending a web to the top of a building and swinging up, my mind buzzing with excitement.
'Debut: check!'

The rest of the night was without many casualties, the most excitement after my official debut being a small corner store robbery attempt which was quickly stopped. I did almost get shot with the robber's gun. Sloppy handling saved me—for once.
Happy with my night's work, I headed back to my apartment to get some well-deserved rest. Five whole hours of it too!

The following morning, I found out the thugs I had took down first were apprehended by the police, and they all told said police about me. Now I was in the newspaper.
The girl I talked to was named 'Himiko Toga' as she gave a quote on me in the newspaper.'They saved me from these four thugs!' She says, 'There was one girl and three guys and they took them all down like it was nothing! They said they were called Redback too! They said like the spider, they don't actually have a red back.'
I walked into class a little earlier than normal, greeting the few people who were there with more enthusiasm than I thought.
Kaminari whispered something to Mineta, but I caught it, which ended up with me being a blushing red mess and Kaminari with a hand mark on his face.
Want to know what he said? I mean, it's your choice.
Yeah? Okay..Kaminari turned to Mineta, a jealous look on his face as he said, "I bet the guy got laid or something..! He's usually so tired and everyth—"
Slap.
"WHAT THE FUCK KAMINARI?!" I exclaimed, covering my face with my hands and screaming into them, my skin burning with embarrassment and annoyance.
Everyone was laughing at this, even Iida, which only fuelled my blush.
'This is so embarrassing..!' I thought to myself, hiding my face in my arms and trying my best to melt into the floor, evaporating my existence.
"Fuck my life.."YEAH YOU GUESSED IT! HIMIKO TOGA ISN'T A VILLAIN IN THIS STORY! I decided I wanted to twist things up a bit with the vigilante thing, and I really wanted Toga to not be a villain so it fit perfectly together!
