My eyes flickered open at the sound of a creak. My door swung open and the light flickered on. My mum walked in, a plate of honey toast (I'm pretty sure I've had enough honey this week to last a lifetime) and a glass of milk in her hands.
"Izuku," she said, placing down the glass and plate on my bedside table. "I'll be going on a work trip tomorrow. I can't miss it either. You can have your phone back, but make sure you rest!"

I chuckled lightly, my voice rasped, and thanked my mother (for bringing me food and a drink) before she left the room. Out of the corner of my eye, I noticed my phone back on my bedside table, so I picked it up and turned it back on.
As soon as the lock screen loaded up, my phone started buzzing violently, surprising me—so I dropped it.
I could feel it vibrating even though I wasn't touching it!

Eventually it stopped. I cautiously picked it up, seeing the top notification and blushing slightly.
It read;
' WaitsApp
3,000+ messages from Ochako Uraraka, Mina Ashido, Tenya Iida, Eijiro Kirishima and 15 more. '

I clicked onto the notification and checked all the messages, my blush only growing as I read their worries.

'Hey Midoriya, where are you?'
'Midoriya-san! You should be in class! You're late!'
'Where were you today?'

And so on.
I decided not to respond to any of them and instead make a story on why I wasn't in, since it was still early morning and the seven who visited probably haven't told anyone why yet.
I clicked on Directcable and then again on 'Story', where there was an option for video.
It started to record.
"Hey.." I started, stifling a yawn. "I'm sorry for not responding for a while but I wasn't allowed to touch my phone until now.. I might be back tomorrow. Just wanted to let you know I'm fine.. Oh and Mina, there was no need to message me so much.. 2,000 plus messages just from you..!" I chuckled a little at the end, my voice still in 'morning mode'.

I stopped recording and posted it on my story, almost immediately getting replies.
'Good to see you're alright Midoriya!' Sero replied.
'At least you're not dead.' Jirou had said, causing a small chuckle to escape my lips.
'Your voice is so manly!' Kirishima said. 'Also I'll return your notebook after I've finished copying all the Crimson Riot info into my own!'

I read the rest of their replies before laying down in my bed, closing my eyes and trying to go back to sleep.

I groaned as another tick resonated from the clock on my wall, turning over and grabbing my phone.
The time read '02:47am'. I had been trying to sleep for the entire day, falling asleep for short naps and waking up again and again.
Why couldn't I sleep, you may ask?

I kept having nightmares and flashbacks from the villain attack at the USJ.

The yelling and laughing and mocking from Shigaraki echoed in my ears when it was too quiet, and I kept feeling the phantom pain of my exoskeleton breaking off.
The worst part though..
I could feel my ears burning like they did as I drowned. I could feel my lungs fill up with water again. I could feel my head about to explode as my oxygen supply ran out.
I could feel myself drowning in my sleep.

Every time I would jolt awake, sweat dripping from my forehead and my body shaking uncontrollably.

I couldn't help myself from feeling as though I was useless back in that fight, and I couldn't shake it off either.
Eventually, I had enough and grabbed my computer, trying to find information on the two villains I knew the names of.
Tomura Shigaraki and Kurogiri.

I searched for hours and hours, finding nothing but police reports on vigilantes, but that was when I found something interesting.
'Vigilante: Kuro Kishi sends distress message about supposed League Of Villains!'

I clicked on the web page and read the article, taking in all of the information given to me.

Vigilante: Kuro Kishi or The Black Knight sent a distress signal from the centre of Mustafu city on Wednesday 3rd May about a certain group of villains who attacked a group of First-Years at U.A. High School exactly 6 days ago. Police reports say Kuro Kishi's body was decaying and bloody, as though he had been ambushed.

I nodded along with the information, noticing the mention of Shigaraki's quirk.

The police were able to find a nurse with a reverse quirk, reversing the injuries Kuro Kishi suffered and managed to get some more information from him.
"There were two of them.." he says, "One wore the hands of real people and the other was a purple mist kinda thing. One said his name was Tomura Shigaraki or something. They ambushed me while I was patrolling the block, and so I sent a distress signal to you so you could maybe send help." Kuro then went on to describe what they said to him, saying how the handed villain placed his hand on his chest and started to destroy his body while monologuing about ruling the world with someone called 'Master'.
"Kinda kinky if you ask me." Kuro continues to say. '

I stopped reading the article and decided to search up about vigilantes and what they did for a while, finally coming across an entire fan page for Kuro Kishi, Mustafu's No.1 Vigilante.

Hours went by, and I knew what I needed to do about my constant struggle with uselessness and how to battle it back.

I was going to become a vigilante.

But first, I needed a suit.

I dug through my wardrobe and pulled out any and all pieces of clothing I could find, from fire-proof clothes (to protect myself from Kacchan's explosions) which don't fit me anymore from years ago to martial art gloves, then I realised.

I didn't know how to sew.

Then it clicked.

Tutorials.

A pair of martial art boots and gloves, pieces of metal from the beach (yeah you didn't remember that did you?), cut up T-shirts and leggings and a lot of sewing needles, and finally it was done.

Seven whole hours to make one suit.

I better get good at this quick, because this suit probably won't last long.

I tucked it away in the bottom corner of my wardrobe and grinned to myself, but as I placed it down a wave of exhaustion washed over me, urging me to get some rest.
I slumped down on my bed and sighed out loud, closing my eyes as I drifted off—
"Izuku! I'm going now!" My mother exclaimed, my door hitting the wall loudly and jolting me back up.
"Okay mum..!" I yawned out, waving bye to her as she left. "Bye!"
"Bye Izuku!"

The front door shut after the last suitcase was pulled out, and so I laid back down and tried to get some sleep.
