Someone screamed loudly once they saw the gun held in Mark's hand, which was the little girl that ran with her mother from the startled crowd. Everyone looked at him with shock once they saw the gun and ran as well, panicking. Some brought out their phones to call the police and stood frozen as some ran for their lives, shoving everyone out of their ways.
"Freeze!" Mark screamed, loud enough for all the hear.
Everyone froze.
"Good," Mark said with an eerie smile before aiming the gun at the same person he first aimed it at and pulled the trigger.
As the gun's loud bang echoed in the air, the man fell to ground with blood escaping him quickly, dying slowly. Everyone around the man looked at him and screamed, panicking again.
Loving the sound of the frightened screams, Mark shot a woman nearby that was aimed at her forehead, killing her instantly. He then shot her crying child, who cried out as he was shot in the leg instead. A woman tried to save the child from being shot again by him but was shot in the stomach before she could move a step.
"Call the police!" Some shrieked amongst the screams.
Mark laughed, shooting more people as the concrete ground had more incoming splatters of the blood from the wounded people. It felt like heaven for him as he held that gun and took away people's lives with a single shot.
Suspiciously, the gun seemed to not run out of bullets.
"Best. Day. Ever!" Mark shot one person at a time as he said it, enjoying every minute of what he was causing.
The shadow laughed, also enjoying what was happening.
"Someone! Help me!" Someone screamed out, but wasn't heard over the loud gun shots and screams. "Help!"
With trembling fingers, a man dialled the police as he hid behind a bin near Mark. "Help–" He was about to tell what was going on but Mark saw the man and shot him with an evil like laugh.
The man dropped completely to the ground, dying in the puddle of his own blood. Next to the dying man was his phone on the ground near the blood with a small voice coming from it, asking if the person was still there.
"It's wonderful to hear those screams, isn't it Mark?" The shadow asked.
Mark was about to answer it, but the same voice he heard only a couple of hours ago, returned.
"Stop, Mark!" The voice screamed, then lowered it's voice into a soft tome. "Killing is not something you do. It's not want you want and it's not something you need to do."
"Killing is what I want," Mark yelled at it as some of him felt like all it said was truth and that what he was doing was wrong.
"Shut up, you fucken soft hearted bitch!" The shadow yelled at it.
It's tone of voice quickly made it disappear, as if it were scared of the shadow.
What even is that? Mark wondered as he fast walked into the panicking crowd, shooting everyone on both sides without a second thought.
"It's a long story," The shadow said after a moment.
"Well, why don't you tell me the story?" Mark faced the shadow, interested.
It's response was a long deafening silence.
"Tell me–" Someone's screaming cut him off, so he turned around and shot them in the head, killing the stranger in an instant.
"Hey, why don't we go and kill your family?" The shadow asked after a pause.
"No, I want to know–" Mark began to feel dizzy, making him stubble a bit and nearly trip over a dead body.
Suddenly, he nodded with a smile, liking the idea of getting revenge on his family than knowing the story behind what the shadow is. It was like he was just put under mind control, even though he was still under it's control. But he couldn't think much of it because of the control put upon him that made him shoot the last person that somehow remained standing.
"Rest in hell," The shadow laughed once the person dropped to the ground, landing on a pile of bloody dead bodies.
Both Mark and the shadow walked out of the town's street as they kept silent, only having the thought of killing the one they planned to kill, who at the moment was waiting for the son he believed had burned his eldest daughter.
