What is the difference between a crown and the crown? Not everyone can wear a crown, it represents royalty and only a selected amount of persons can wear it. Queen Elizabeth, King Felipe VI, Queen Maxima, and other monarchs are examples of royal people who wear a crown. But anyone can wear the crown, our Savior, Christ's crown that represents, love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. Importantly, Love. This is who Jesus is, inside and out. Spiritually and physically. They placed a crown of thorns on His head and mocked Him, but He did not fear. He died in love and resurrected in love.
He did this so that we can be saved, He did this because He loves us all. To wear a crown doesn't mean to show kindness and love but to be it. It starts from the inside. Some of us ask what love is. The dictionary tells us that Love is complex. A mix of emotions, behaviors, and beliefs associated with strong feelings of affection, protectiveness, warmth, and respect for another person. But to wear the crown, love is Him, love is God.
But it all begins with loving yourself. His word tells that we must love our neighbors as ourselves. But if we drown ourselves in anxiety and self-bullying and allow ourselves to be hurt by people's words then we don't love ourselves enough. We protect our lives and say good things to ourselves. When we have a flaw we tell ourselves that we're beautiful on this inside and we want to look that way on the outside too.
When you learn to love yourself, help someone else too, treat them respectfully just like Jesus would do to you. When something goes wrong don't allow anger and pride to rule you, but overcome it instead.
That is what it means to wear the crown. We are all princes and princesses in the eyes of our father God's eyes. We wear the crown because we are one with Him, and it is worth more than anything in this world, to reign with Him in His heavenly Kingdom forever and ever. So let us lead with love and remember that God is love.
