Dipper continued to learn under Ford's apprenticeship and Mabel started tenth grade.
The cycle continued and soon summer came around again as well.
At the crack of dawn, Dipper woke up, got dressed, and sneaked his way out of the Mystery Shack.
He took a backpack with some snacks and a water bottle and headed to the bus stop.
He sat down on the bench and sighed, "Please come Mabel."

Stan woke up in his bed and stretched his arms, yawning, "First day of summer, first day of work."
He dragged himself to the kitchen and saw his brother reading the newspaper and drinking coffee, "Morning Poindexter." he said.
Ford looked up from his newspaper, "Oh, good morning Stanley! I see you're up and early today?"
"Yup, it's the first day of summer so there'll be lots of customers pouring in."
"I hope you're prepared for what's to come Stanley."
"Pshhh, I've been doing this for years Sixer! I'm sure I'll do just fine!" Stan laughed.
"That's not what I meant..." Ford said, a little nervously, "I meant about Dipper. This is going to be his first summer without Mabel."
"Oh, right." Stan said, "Where is he anyway? He's normally up by now."
"You didn't pass by him when he woke up?" Ford asked.
Stan shook his head no.
Ford immediately stood up and ran to the attic. He opened the door to see Dipper's bed empty, "Oh no, DIPPER!"
