Big thank you to @lazshirfry for helping me with this story!

Some students began to pack up to prepare for the big trip, while others immediately broke down on their legs to rest while others slowly sat down.

"What's your name?" Arlo asked, turning his attention back to the red-eyed girl. There were minty beads tying up 2 sections of her red-violet hair, and she stuttered out, looking down with her hands squeezing each other.

"U..uh my name is Evie. I'm a low tier." "Alright, Evie, where is this quote-on-quote place?" His hands aired up and two fingers on both sides bent up and down.

"Its in the mountains, I know where it is but I can't exactly describe it." Evie replied, refusing to look up at Arlo

Hm. "So we're just relying on your directions?" Arlo's thumb curved under his chin like an arch.

"W-well ...yeah"

Arlo felt like he didn't have enough info about this... 'place.' "Hm... are there any dangers along the way? Anything we need to watch out for?" Evie thought for a moment, her finger resting on her chin.

"Uhhh I don't think there are too many apart from this one huge slit in the ground. It's not enough to kill someone but they could get trapped in it."

"How deep is it?" Arlo asked "U-uhhhhhhhhh... enough for someone to be stuck in it. If someone tried reaching their hand out, they'd fall into it too."

Arlo thought in his head, his glaring eyes accidentally landing on Evie. She shivered, feeling a cold bug crawl onto her spine. "I guess we'll pack some ropes too," he sighed. He didn't like the idea of having to pass a dangerous spot with hundreds of kids but at this point he really didn't have much of a choice. "Alright is there anything else we need to be worried about" Evie shook her head. "Ok then. We'll be heading there... Evie I'll need you to lead the group with me"

A groan escaped from John's mouth. The ground below him was hard and rather rough.

"Ugh..."

"—n?"

"-e'- —-ke!"

"-ohn!"

He abruptly opened his eyes. His knees bended as he quickly shoved the air when he sat up, grabbing his temple. He felt like he was going to throw up a big bubble of air.

"John! How are you feeling?"

His vision was a little blurry, and the voice sounded slightly muffled like someone was talking in a mask, but he could tell the figure beside him was Seraphina. She sounded more relieved, but also slightly panicked. He squinted trying to make it less blurry. Why was her hair one solid color..?

"..."

His eyes furred down, his spine curling a little further. The yelling hurt his head a little, adding more pain to the nausea that was already pushing him close to the edge. He took a moment to get a better understanding of where he was. Then he remembered about the encounter in his dream. Oh... I'm back here again...

"John?"

"Y-yeah, I'm good." The pain stretching his brain was still lingering, but it was mostly gone so he could at least hide the... slip up.

"I healed most of your wounds, but my aura ran out..." Elaine spoke. "... you hit your head... do you remember anything?"

"...I don't think I hit my head, but I don't remember uh... getting these injuries..? At least not properly, no."

"What do you mean by not properly?" Sera asked, sounding a little confused. "Errrrrrrrrr... " He scratched the back of his messy hair that hasn't been brushed in days while nervously laughing.

"Im not sure... it was all a blur that night-"

"Ah, figures... you seemed to have hit it pretty hard." Elaine said placing aa hand on the back of John's head.

"Anyway, we're planning to go to a safe place that a student suggested, and we're currently getting ready to go."

"...are you sure this... 'place' is safe?" John questioned looking up at the two girls beside him

Sera and Elaine looked at eachother with mixed expressions. "We're not sure to be honest but its better that we get moving than stay in one place."

John nodded slowly not wanting to move his head too much. "So... who is this student..?"

Seraphina smiled. "She's an acquaintance of mine and based on the time we spent together I'd say she's really friendly. she's pretty open... Also uh... very shy." She chuckled at that last part.

"Alright... I want to meet her."
