John severely overestimated his strength. He never would have thought walking would have been so hard. The lack of water and food might have played a part in his current state but wow this was difficult. He found himself being supported by Sera and Elaine as they went to find the short red haired girl.

After what seemed like years they spotted two teens standing a little farther away from the rest of the crowd.

"Arlo!" The tall blonde kid turned their way. He quickly rushed over to the trio, the girl stumbling behind him. "You're awake!" he stated, looking over at John in amazement.

John turned towards the ground. He really didn't want to be around Arlo at the moment whether it was the Arlo from his world or this fake one.

"He woke up just a few minutes ago." Arlo nodded. "Do you want me to carry him-"

John immediately stepped back, falling down and dragging Elaine and Seraphina down with him. Arlo cringed when their bodies hit the floor.

Groans were heard, and John's hand clawed his unkempt hair. "Ugh... sorry," he mumbled, only his arm stabilizing him when he sat up. "No, it's fine! Uhh Arlo, are you sure you want to carry a bunch of... muscles?" Elaine reassured cheerfully.

Arlo thought. He could take a risk and use up his ability but that would also take up energy. And if they got caught, they'd be dead big time. "On second thought, no thanks. Though actually... my passive would come in handy right now..."

Then without warning Arlo swept up John bridal style. "AJSHKDGUYHSBSJ LET GOOOO" As if being around Arlo wasn't enough, being in his arms was a different story. "ARLO TELL ME WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU DOING, NOW."

Arlo lightly laughed. "You couldn't walk even if you tried"

"Hnnnnnnnnnnghe IFINE i'd rather die at this point but there's fucking Sera and eurbisjsjJjsjjwjsjJEIEJKDSJ" To be honest, back then when John had to walk, he felt like he was an anvil with his head spinning, so when Arlo carried him he was a lot more... comfortable since he could actually rest on something.

Though he hated this situation. It seemed like a Jarlo of Jass fantasy.

"U..uh......" Arlo heard a familiar voice that he was talking to a fucking second ago. "Ah, sorry Evie. We had a little uh... reunion..." She stared a confused expression at Arlo carrying a raven-haired man, though smiling a bit. This raven haired man noticed and looked at her suspiciously.

"So this is Evie,... huh."

Why did she remind him so much of that cute bastard? He missed her neatly tied up braids and her innocent smile along with the times they baked cake together to surprise Adrion on his birthday.

But he knew those days were over.

"John, you ok?" Arlo asked, worried. All he saw was John with focused eyes full of regret and a slight blazing hatred. The ribbon haired man waved his hand in front of the black haired man's shooken face, trying to get a reaction of some sort. "Jo-"

"Y...yeah, I'm good. Sorry about that," he interrupted and poorly attempted to slap Arlo's hand back. "Anyway, I can stand up, thank you very much."

"Nope."

"Yes."

"No."

"Yes."

John attempted to pry out of Arlo's grasp, but he was too tired, and the world around him was like he was in a very distorted trance. Arlo noticed his voice increasingly getting raspier each day and his dizzying eyes. "John, just stay in this position, you're using a lot of energy and you'll need it for the long awaited... journey to this shelter Evie suggested."

Suddenly, John's eyes were focused and sharp on Evie. She kept reminding him of Claire, which led him to believe or be wary of her upcoming betrayal. "Evie... damn, if Isen were here I could probablyngggggggggggh..."

Evie was indeed confused, but from her experience she knew he was suspicious of her. Not like she could blame him.

Sera and Elaine's faces were about to burst like balloons full of laughter, but they were holding it in like they were about to piss their pants in the theater. Evie was trying not to laugh or even smile because John was staring at her menacingly, wiping away any humorous thoughts she had left in her mind.

Though she stared at his eyes, perhaps to conquer her fears.

John sighed. He hated the resemblance of her and Claire, but he knew he had to throw it away or at least push it to the very back of his mind.

After his little rambling in his head, he nasally asked, "Evie, how do you know this... 'place' and how are we supposed to trust you?"
