Chapter 3 - The New World

While Richard was distracted looking at Shawn a monster sneaks up behind him and chomps down into his neck, he screams out in agony drawing more to him they begin overwhelm him and munch down. Lee runs over quickly to Duck and Shawn grabs a crowbar off the worktop and smashes it across a monster's face knocking it to the ground. As Lee gets to them both he stops and realises he can only get to one of them as the monsters are coming. Lee thinks to himself (I can't let a kid die) and with that he runs over to Duck and smacks the monster trying to grab him. Kenny then comes sprinting over and grabs Duck and turns, as Lee smacks the other monster he shouts "Kenny what are you doing help me with Shawn" Kenny ignores him and runs away with Duck. Lee tries to get to Shawn but he is too late, multiple monsters munch down on his neck and his body and Shawn screams out in pain. Hershel and Maggie finally make it over and shoot all the monsters in the head with their shotguns. Hershel drops to his knees by Shawn and says "No.. no you will be alright son I will patch you up" Shawn says in a depleted and quiet voice "No dad it's too late I'm sorry" Beth then runs out and goes over to Richard and starts crying, Hershel turns only just realising his brother is dead as well. His face begins to boil up with anger and he explodes with rage and screams "ALL OF YOU GET OFF MY FARM NOW! AND NEVER RETURN!" Lee backs away and Kenny comes behind him and says "You have that ride to Macon if you want it" and they all turn towards Kenny's car.

While driving up to Macon they see a cop car crashed into the side of another car. Lee shouts for Kenny to pull over because he can see people, Kenny ignores him before Katjaa pulls him by the arm saying "There is a little kid there" at first thought Kenny thinks to keep driving but looks back at Duck and pulls the car to a stop. Kenny and Lee get out of the car and tell the others to wait inside. They go over to the crash to find a police man and a little girl standing behind him. Lee says "Hello do you need any help?" the policeman says "Yes, my name is Andre and I found this girl all alone and was trying to get her out of the city before my car gave way" Kenny buts in and says "Well at first glance doesn't look like your car is going anywhere I'm afraid. The officer replies with "Shit" in an aggravated tone. The little girl beside him starts to tear up, Lee bends down and says "It's okay don't cry what's your name?" she politely but quietly says "Lexi" Lee says "Nice to meet you Lexi, I'm Lee and it's okay we have other children around your age in the car" a little smile comes across her face and she says "Really?" Lee smiles and says "Yes, come on you can both jump in we are heading to Macon. Kenny quickly whispers to Lee "I don't know about this man we are already full up" Lee replies in a more hostile tone saying "There is a kid here Kenny, think if it was Duck" Kenny stands there thinking to himself but finally says "Yeah come on jump in" they all walk over to the car and when Lee opens the door to let them in, Clementine looks out and her eyes go wide and she says "Lexi?" in a shocked tone. Lexi says "Clementine!" and they hug each other. Lee says "Know each other do you?" Clementine says "Yeah our parents are friends and we go to school with each other" Lee says "Well that's good then, but come on both of you get in we still have a long journey ahead".

Finally the car had made it to Macon but it was out of gas. The car trailed along the road slowly dying until it came to a hard stop. Everyone got out of the car and started to walk up the street, Kenny saw someone behind a lorry and shouted "Hello can you help us we are all out of gas?". When the person turns around revealing it to be a monster, it groans back at everyone and Kenny shouts "RUN!" when more and more of them start appearing from all around. Andre grabs out his gun and begins to start shooting when Duck and Lexi back up into a monster it dives onto Duck as Lexi dodged out the way. Kenny turns shouting "NO" when a woman in a tight skirt and wrinkled shirt comes running over shooting the monster off Duck and helping Andre fend off the others. Another man standing by the doors to a drug store shouts "Quickly everyone get inside now" everyone runs over to the doors.

Once insdie Katjaa takes Duck over to a counter to try clean him up while everyone else still stands by the door. Another woman with dark hair comes stroming over and starts shouting at the other girl "Why are you letting over people in here, it's too dangerous" she replies with "Lily what do you expect me to do, let people die we are all trying to survive out here" Lee buts in saying "Hey lady I don't get what your problem is but we have kids here" Lily starts to raise her voice higher saying "Well the monsters out there don't care if you have kids" Kenny jumps in saying "Well maybe you should go join then them" Lily facial expressions get even more pissed. Until an older man steps in front of her and says "All of you shut up my daughter knows what she is talking about" Lee then says "Oh another asshole" the man hears that and says "You can shut up, I could chuck you outside myself". Before Lee can reply he feels a tug at his arm and he looks down and Clem looks up at him and says "I really need the toilet" Lee replies with "In a minute Clem'' her face drops in disappointment. Then suddenly the old man looks to his left and his face fills with shock, he shouts "One of them is bitten, we have to END this now" and he storms over towards Duck and Katjaa. Kenny and Lee quickly sprint over and block his way. Kenny shouts "You are not going anywhere near my boy" the old man "Don't you people understand this is how it happens, if you get bit by them you become one of them and that boy is going to turn and kill us all" Kenny screams with his lungs saying "I'm going to kill him, kill him, Lee back me up here" Lee then shouts "You are not touching that boy or anyone else in here, if you want to try you got to go through me first". The man starts to back down but says one last time "He will kill my daughter and those other two little girls in here". Clem then shouts over to Lee saying "There is someone in here" Lee replies "It's just locked, keys behind the counter probably". Clem runs over and grabs it and heads back towards the door. While the lady who had the gun says "Can we all just stop shouting at each other" and after she finishes that sentence the bathroom door swings open and Clementine screams, Lee shouts in horror "CLEMENTINE" and runs towards her but trips over someone's leg smashing his head on the counter and as his vision goes blurry all he can see is a monster moving towards Clementine.
