Chapter 1 - New Horizons

Sorry if this chapter is a little too long this chapter is also the only one that pretty much identical to the original in the game, after this there is a lot of different things. Enjoy!

A police car drove across the long grey road leading out of Atlanta, inside the car was an old police man in the front of the car and in the back seat handcuffed was a middle aged black man called Lee. Lee looked out of the window knowing his life is now over, everything he worked for in his life has now been for nothing. He sighed, shaking his head in the process, the police man saw this in his rear-view mirror and his eyebrows moved together in an interested stare. He said to Lee "So I bet you're going to start saying how you didn't do it and how you were framed". Lee opened his eyes and looked at the man and said to the man calmly "Nah, you won't get that from me, no reason to deny anything I know what happened and so does everyone else". The police officer continued to say "You see I followed your case a lot considering you're a Macon boy and all" Lee cut in and said "Oh so you're from Macon yourself then?", the officer said "Yeah I grew up there but moved away pretty young to become a city cop, anyway why did you do what you did?" Lee hesitant but replies with "I don't know man, I just had a moment where I snapped and let it all flow out". Sirens of police car's were zooming past on the other side of the road heading towards Atlanta, Lee turned to look out, wondering why so many were going past. The cop continues to say "Maybe you just married the wrong woman you know", Lee's face scrunched together. He was annoyed with what the cop had said but stopped himself saying anything rash. As more police cars and helocoptors were flying towards the city, the radio in the front of the police car went off multiple times as if it was on repeat. The policeman switched it off immediately, Lee said "What if anything of that is important", the police man replied with "It all is but sometimes it gets on my nerves especially when I am transporting a prisonor". Lee sits back in his chair looking up thinking in his head (Shit, this situation is so fucked, how did I get here man). The cop begins to talk and says " You know I had a man once sitting in that chair, skinny, weak looking man who wore glasses, the whole trip he wouldn't stop going on about how he didn't do it and how he has been wrongly accused and framed, snorting and crying all over the back seat", Lee replied with "Maybe he really didn't do it" The cop replied instantly in a louder tone saying "Oh he sat screaming on his mother's life he didn't do it but the boys came crashing through his door and caught him red handed stabbing his wife in the chest and he had the right to scream he didn't do it", Lee opened his eyes wide and said " God dam" the officer then said "seemed like he believed it himself", the cop went on to say "So I have this other story" and as he is talking Lee looks forward and sees a man in the road walking straight towards the car and shouts "LOOK OUT" but it is too late the car crashes straight into the man and the car swerves off and over the railings and goes crashing down the hill and through the tree's doing flips and turns before finally smashing down to the floor. Lee hits his head and gets knocked straight out.

Lee begins to regain consciousness but he flashes in and out and sees flashes of people around him moving about but his eyes begin to blink repeatedly and he falls back into a sleep again. He then suddenly reawakes in an instant and sits his head straight up. He looks down at his leg and sees that it is cut deep and it hurts like hell, he also realises that he is still handcuffed. He looks forward and out the front windscreen and sees the police officer laying on the floor in a deformed way, Lee shouts over to him but gets no response. Lee begins to look around the car for a way out and sees that the window is a little bit cracked and decides to kick it and kick it again and again until it finally gives way and smashes open, Lee crawls his way forward and climbs out of the car and falls straight onto his leg, he reaches out in pain and holds it seeing that it is only getting worse and he needs help. He grabs onto the car and shifts his way across, until he gets his way to the front he looks down and sees the cops shotgun on the floor, Lee says to himself (Why has he got his gun out something must have gone down). Lee continues forward and stops leaning on the car he moves over to some bullets on the ground, unfired shotgun shells. He bends down to pick them up wincing in pain from his leg. After picking them up and sliding them in his pocket he moves towards the police officer knowing the keys for the handcuffs must be on him. Lee approaches the police officer, his body just laying by the tree with a pile of blood around him and his legs twisted backwards and up. Lee once more says "Officer can you hear me?" and with no reply Lee bends down and picks to keys off the officer's belt and as Lee goes to free his hands he pushes the key in wrong and drops it right in front of the officer's mouth, Lee hesitant backs away but knows he must get them bends down ever so slightly and moves his hand in quick and back out in a flash and unlocks his handcuffs and as they clank to the ground he hears a grown from the officer and Lee says "Officer are you okay? What is wrong?" and as Lee finishes that sentence the police man jumps up and grabs Lee pushing him to the floor, Lee looks up to his face to see it all deformed and dark with his eyes pure white. Lee kicks the officer off of him and crawls back as quickly as he can and pushes up against the car realising there is no room left to move, Lee then turns to his left and quickly picks up the shotgun he pulls the shells out of his pocket and begins to load but under the pressure and pace drops them to the floor he quickly bends over and picks them up in an instant and loads the gun and clicks it back and says one last time "Don't make me shoot officer please" but as he keeps approaching, Lee closes his eyes and pulls the trigger the shotgun erupts and fires straight through the cops head blowing it straight apart blood spraying everywhere. Lee drops the shotgun in shock and his eyes go wide in horror and as he begins to catch his breath he sees a shadow at the top of the hill and shouts up to it "Hello is somewhere there? I need help down here there has been a shooting". The shadow runs away and as Lee goes to move he hears growling and groans coming from all around him and as he looks behind he sees people but not normal people they are like the officer who he had to shoot and Lee quickly pulls himself to his feet while trying to ignore the pain from his leg. He begins to run as more of them begin to arrive he trips on the hill his leg giving in and as he falls one of the creatures lunges for him, Lee manages to dodge it and get back to his feet. He reaches a fence and climbs it and falls over to the other side hitting the floor with a thud. He begins to hear pushing and groans from the other side as it looks like they are trying to push the fence down but before they can gunshots are heard in the distance and the creatures begin to all walk away towards the noise. Lee breathes and slowly takes in what is happening and begins to rise to his feet.
